/5th grade and one for the 6th /7th graders. Team teaching is very flexible, and teachers
make their own schedule together. Classes
begin September 13 at 9:35 am. Please contact Carol Forsberg (763) 559-2216 if you
are interested.
Sign up today for the Twins game on
August 26. The Joe's Mauer and Nathan, need our full support as they battle the
Baltimore Orioles at the Metrodome. Join hundreds of Lutherans to help cheer on
our Minnesota Twins.

SOCIAL
ACTION COMMITTEE
AUGUST NEED-OF-THE-MONTH
This is the last week
to donate school supplies to IOCP's annual Back To School! Program. Please bring your donations to church by
Friday, August 21. Thank you for your
contributions!
Lost
and Found!
Did you ever participate in the Fall Bob's Sleep Out? And did you bring a tent to sleep in that
night? Because, someone's tent poles
were FOUND when the Sater's recently went camping. Now think back a couple of years (!) or check
your tenting bag for missing tent poles!
Contact Joe or Jackie at 478-9442.
A note
of precaution:
Since the H1N1
pandemic has been officially declared, we are taking a few precautions at worship. At Holy Communion, servers are taking care to
clean their hands with sanitizer. But if
you have added concerns, it is permissible to receive the wine only (served in
individual glasses).
For awhile we have set aside the 'Sharing
of the Peace' during the liturgy. And,
the Pastors will not be offended if you do not shake their hand after
worship. A kind nod and greeting is
quite acceptable. We pray that this
pandemic will not be severe and will pass quickly.
National
Lutheran Choir Presents Free Hymn Festival at Central Lutheran Church
HYMN FESTIVAL, Thursday August 20, 8:00 pm. Unite in the singing the faith with the voting
members of the ELCA and the National Lutheran Choir at Central Lutheran Church,
next door to the Convention Center, the
location of the national assembly. The hymn festival is an independent event,
and is open to the public, free of charge.
"You Shall Have a Song" is the theme for the
program led by the National Lutheran Choir and David Cherwien, director and
organist. Join the choir in thunderous
singing of hymns to God in this magnificent space, deepened by reflections
offered by hymnist and poet Susan Palo Cherwien. Also included in the hymn fest is choral
literature by composers Duruflé, Chesnokov, Thompson, Christiansen and
Siegfried.
