Mission Trip, 2009.  Twelve of our high school students will spend this week serving with the YouthWorks organization. They look forward to learning about our local social outreach agencies as well as connecting with some congregations in the inner city.  We ask your prayers for these who are attending:  Geena Berg, Weston Birnbaum, Larissa Borg, Ciara Eldridge, Abby Guidera, Melanie Jacobson, Jared Meyers, Rachel Okerstrom, John Sater, Laura Sater, Adam Sorenson and Britta Swanson. Beret Guidera, Janna McFarlane, and Pastor Jeff will be gone with them June 21-26.

Peace Ranch Camp will be held July 13-16 this year.  Luther Park Camp Counselors will help us rustle up a bunch of fun! Join us for crafts and games, Bible study and camp songs!  More information and registration forms are available at the Information Center, in the office and at the web site www.peaceofplymouth.org .  Invite your friends to join us for this week of awesome fun at Vacation Bible School!

Lend a Hand to Ranch Camp  We are looking for middle school and high school youth to be "Ranch Hands" during the week.  They assist with all parts of the program.  In addition, the congregation is asked to consider the following ways to contribute:

host a Luther Park staff member, help plan and serve the Thursday 'Round- Up' meal, be the adult on duty, assist in the art room, help with registration Monday morning, provide an evening meal for the Luther Park staff, help set up and decorate the fellowship hall (Saturday), help with our pre-school, donate a snack, kitchen help serving the snacks.

Please sign up on the Youth and Family Bulletin Board if you will help.

The World Servants Experience... interested in short-term mission trips?  There are two informational meetings scheduled for trips to the Dominican Republic in 2010, with the World Servants Organization. An adult trip in January, and a family trip in June will be discussed.  The first meeting will be June 25, at 7:00 p.m. at Maple Grove Covenant Church, 9350 Upland Ave in Maple Grove.  For more information, please contact Midge Shaw.

Attend the World Championship Rodeo!  Plan to attend Family Day at the Hamel Rodeo on July 11, 2009 with the OWLS group.  We'll meet at 12 noon for the 1:00 pm performance.  You need not be a senior to join us. Families, singles, ALL are welcome! We plan to tailgate at Peace after the show. Look for information and sign up on the bulletin board in the narthex.

Altar Flowers are given in celebration of their wedding anniversary by Mervin and Carolyn Stark.

One of the most important factors in maintaining Lutheran identity is the quality of pastoral preparation.  Read about plans from a number of Lutheran seminaries in the June issue of Metro Lutheran.  These snippets offer a flavor of what is happening on seminary campuses. Copies are available at the Information Center or in the church office.

The state of Minnesota predicts that Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) grant money will be available for customers through July 2.  Applications will be accepted until the close of business on July 2, 2009.  Please visit CenterPointEnergy.com/paybill to learn more.

Asking for a pianist:  Cornerstone Commons, the Assisted Living and Memory Care facility across the street, is offering a ministry opportunity. They are looking for people who are willing to share their ability to play the piano (or other musical talents) for Sunday Chapel services or other times at Cornerstone Commons. They have many residents who are unable to attend Sunday Worship at a local church.  This offers an opportunity for you to help them worship the Lord and express their faith.

If this is something you might wish to take part in please contact Cornerstone Commons chaplain, Jim Vogt, at 763-390-1827 for more information. Thank you for considering this opportunity to touch lives for the Lord
