MAKE IT A HOLY WEEK!

There is nothing more important you can do during Holy Week than worship. "Holy" means to be "set apart." We set apart special times to reenact the events that brought us our salvation:  the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  From Palm Sunday to Easter there are six opportunities for worship.

GOOD FRIDAY:  April 10, 7 PM
Stand at the foot of the cross to witness Jesus' crucifixion.  A service of shadows will feature "symbols of the passion" with meditations, hymns, and choir anthems.

EASTER SUNDAY:  April 12, 8:30 and 10:45 AM
Join the women at the empty tomb and raise the shout of victory:  "He is risen!  He is risen, indeed!"  Hear the Good News and sing the great hymns of the Resurrection! for Christ has won the victory over sin and death and all the powers of darkness.

Join us Easter morning as we serve you a delicious breakfast from 9 - 10:30 a.m.
On the menu: scrambled eggs, hash browns, smoked bacon, carved ham and sweet rolls.  We'll have a pancake and waffle station. Along with fresh fruit and juice, milk and coffee will be served. Prices are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 years and under.  This meal is once again a fundraiser for our high school youth who attend the mission trip in June.

Circle meetings will be on Tuesday, April 12, at 12:30 p.m.  Faith Circle meets at Ilene Forde's home and Hope Circle will meet at the home of Bunny Rova.

This Wednesday we continue Peace-Full Nights.  Notice we begin our spring schedule!  Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m.  Check the calendar for a complete list of activities.

We are planning the May issue of the Peace Notes.  If you have announcements you'd like published in the newsletter, the deadline is on Thursday, April 15.  Thanks for your help.

Please say you'll help:  An online Care Calendar has been set up to simplify the support process for the Heiderscheit's.  It lists meals and other needs as they arise.  You can access the calendar at www.carecalendar.org/logon/13781.  You will need to provide the security code (7876). If you have questions, contact Janna McFarlane.

Next week at Adult Forum-Health Care Directives  A health care directive is a written document that informs others of your health care wishes in the event that you are not able to communicate them yourself.  Martha Knutson will present useful information:  their history and purpose, and what is required to make them legal documents recognized by health care providers.  Forms will be available at the presentation.  Please plan to join us!

The OWLS are attending the Luther College Choir concert Sunday, April 19.  The concert will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis at 3:30 p.m.  Please sign up and let us know you're planning to attend.  Meet at 2:45 p.m. to carpool.  Drivers are needed.

Remember the High School Senior Recognition Dinner that will be next Sunday, April 19, at 5:30 p.m.  Call Anita at the church office to RSVP and bring your photographs, too!

Next week at Together in Faith:  the three and four-year-olds and their parents are invited to attend "Keys of the Church" led by Jackie Lee.  Please meet in the Activity Room at 9:35.

Start saving your items to donate to the Rummage Sale at the end of April.  We will not be accepting adult clothing this year, but will accept children's clothes up to size 12.

From Luther Park Camping and Retreat Center:  the 13th Annual Ole and Lena Spaghetti Dinner, show and silent auction are set for Saturday, April 18, 5 p.m. The music and humor of LeRoy Larson and the Minnesota Scandinavian Ensemble of Prairie Home Companion fame, will be back by popular demand. All proceeds from this FUNdraiser benefit Luther Park camp scholarships. Talk to Norm Okerstrom for more information or for tickets to this event.

The Annual Peace Rummage & Bake Sale is just around the corner, April 30 - May 2.  Don't miss the opportunity to contribute to an event that contributes all proceeds to local charities.  There are many ways to help make this year another success: volunteer your time, make something delicious for the bake sale, donate items for the sale, invite friends and family to the sale, and shop, shop, shop!

Items may be dropped off beginning Saturday April 25th in the NE corner of the Fellowship Hall.  If you have large items that need to be picked up at your home, we will again be offering a pick-up service on Saturday and Sunday (April 25th and 26th).  We will not be accepting TV's, VCR's, computers, printers/copiers this year and no adult clothing or Christmas decorations please! See  the Information Center for donation item pick-up forms as well as informational flyers to share with your friends and neighbors. See Deb Weir, Evonne Carlson, Pam Jette, or Jean Sorenson with questions.
