Peace Lutheran in the Community...

March is Minnesota FoodShare Month.  The Minnesota FoodShare initiative was created two decades ago, providing an annual, state wide mechanism for local response

to increasing food insecurity.  More families need food support. Please bring a generous donation of food to church each week during March.  All donations will go to our local food shelf (Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners). In 2008, IOCP distributed a monthly average of 70,000 pounds to local families. Your help does make a difference.

IOCP receives a percentage allocation (based on incoming donations at the local level) from Minnesota FoodShare, which IOCP uses to purchase food.  For every dollar donated (March 1-April 30), IOCP leverages $8 in needed food items at Second Harvest Heartland, the metro food bank.   Checks to IOCP (with the notation 'Minnesota FoodShare/Feinstein Challenge') can be placed in the offering collection plate.

UNTIL THE NARTHEX IS TILED, WE WILL BE ACCEPTING DONATIONS IN THE BLUE TUB WHICH IS NOW LOCATED JUST TO THE LEFT OF THE KITCHEN.  LOOK FOR THE SIGNS AND THE THERMOMETER!!

Peace Lutheran in the World...

Operation Bootstrap Africa is in great need of sponsorships at the MaaSae Girls' Lutheran Secondary School in Monduli, Tanzania.  Peace Lutheran has been a part of this mission for years and has seen first hand the fruition of our labors.  This year fifty-nine young women are hoping to attend MGLSS, and they all need sponsors or they will be sent home.  Tuition, fees, board, room, uniform and other necessities is $800 per year per student.  Or, there are other ways to help.  Contact Grace Tauring at (952) 544-5108 for more information. Asante Sana!
