Today we install the 2009 Congregation Council members.  Kim Okerstrom (President), Janna McFarlane (Vice President), Judy Wold (Secretary), Roger Birnbaum (Treasurer), and Angela Akhigbe, Kwen Johnson, Sarah Kerbeshian and Kevin Moody (Members-at-Large).  Thanks are given to out-going council members, Chris Bacon, June Nerness, Lance Novak, Paul Guidera, Lisa Lukis and Muril Pederson for their past years of leadership.

Please bring your loose change on Super Bowl Sunday (February 1) for a Souper Bowl Sunday collection.  Our high school students will be standing at the exits of the sanctuary collecting.  All money will be donated to Feed My Starving Children.

At Adult Forum:  Joel Legred, Director of Luther Park Bible Camp, is our guest speaker.  Learn more about the ministry of Luther Park! Meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:35 a.m.

A Chance for Fellowship!  The Polka Dots Dads are getting together for the Super Bowl and are inviting other dads along to watch the game and have some fun.  Meet at Todd Taylor's home at 4:30 p.m. and bring some sort of snack to share.  RSVP to ttaylor@fredlaw.com

Shopping Volunteer Wanted!  The Building Liaison Committee is looking for 1 or 2 persons to shop for a few items needed to complete the furnishing needs of the ladies lounge.  If you are interested, contact Nancy Broge or Kathie Kolbjornsen for the details.

We wish to thank the members of Peace for your cards, thoughts and prayers at the time of David's mom's passing.  It is truly a blessing to have such a caring church home.

~David & Carol Forsberg

For Kids of All Ages:  Sledding at Hamel Hill, on Sunday, February 15, 12:45 pm. More information may be found in the February Peace Notes.

Start collecting your items to donate to the 2009 Peace Lutheran Rummage Sale!  The sale will be held the last week of April into May.  Donations will be received in late April.

The Hamel Lions Club is having a Pancake Breakfast and the sixth annual Freeze Your Buns Run on February 1, 2009.  All proceeds go to the Donnie DesLauriers Scholarship Fund.  Registration forms can be picked up on the Community bulletin board in the hallway, or visit www.hamellions.org for more information.

Community Breakfast: Remember how good those waffles and sausage were at last year's IOCP benefit? This year the same treat will be held on Sunday February 15, from 8a to 1p.  Purchase your tickets in advance at a table in the narthex for $6.00 (they're $7. at the door).  Your participation will enable Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners to continue providing food, housing and other services to area families who are in need.  The breakfast is held at the Wayzata American Legion, 949 E Wayzata Blvd.
