Today we say a fond farewell to Phil and Joy Peterson, who have moved to Northfield, Minn., and will be joining a congregation there.  Even as we will miss their presence among us, we wish them God's blessings in their new home, and look forward to an occasional visit!

We're updating our records, and asking members and guests to include their email address when signing the welcome pads. You only need to sign it once, during the month of December.

Adult Forum will conclude our study of Handel's Messiah today. Please join us for part four of our series-meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45 a.m.

"Jesus Lights the Way" will be presented at the 10:45 a.m. service on Sunday, December 21.  Our youngest members at Peace inspire us with story and song as we celebrate the birth of Christ.

Christmas Eve Worship servicesof Lessons and Carolswill be held December 24 at 3:30, 5:00 and 10 p.m.  The children's choirs will sing at the 3:30 p.m. worship.  It will be dark enough for us to sing Silent Night by candlelight. The service of Lessons and Carols with Senior Choir and special music will be held at 5:00 p.m.  At 10 pm, we worship entirely by candlelight and we'll sing carols accompanied by guitar.  Holy Communion will be celebrated.  Please plan to join us!

There will be no Peace-Full Nights held December 24 and 31, to break for the Christmas and New Year holidays.  Families Moving Forward begins on January 4, and there will be no dinner or classes January 7.  We meet again for dinner, classes and choirs on January 14, 2009.

The Church office will be closed on December 25 and 26 for the Christmas holiday.

College Student get-together on Friday, December 26, at Noon. Meet for lunch at Old Chicago in Plymouth as we catch up and/or meet new friends. Come for free food and beverages!

Volunteer Opportunities

Looking to share your talents at Peace? Join the Evangelism committee. Contact Jim Broge.

Please help keep our plants alive! Needed: Plant Waterers.  We are now setting up the 2009 schedule to water the indoor plants. We would like 6-8 volunteers to rotate once a week. The watering takes about 15 minutes. Sign-up on the Volunteer bulletin board or talk to Nancy Broge.

We are also looking for members to help on the Peace Nursery committee.  This only takes a few hours every quarter to help take care of our nursery and coordinate volunteers for church services.  Please contact Natalie Nantke or Jeannice Reding if you are interested in being involved.  Or, if you would like to care for our young ones in the nursery, we can always use more help. A good opportunity for Confirmands or older youth seeking volunteer hours.

December Need-Of-The-Month This month we are collecting items Midge Shaw will bring to the Dominican Republic on her mission trip in January.  The list of items can be found in the December issue of Peace Notes, and also by the Dominican display in the narthex.
