We're updating our records!  The evangelism committee would like members and guests to include their email address when signing the welcome pads. You only need to sign in once, during the month of December.

At Adult Forum, Handel's Messiah, Nov. 30 - Dec. 21. A hallmark of the Christmas season, this study will focus on the portions of the oratorio appropriate for Advent. The music and lyrics of Messiah will become more meaningful through a clearer understanding of the scripture and musical interpretations of some of its most familiar movements. Please come to any or all of these sessions and expect your faith to be enriched! Meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45 a.m., immediately after the Sunday School opening music.

Christmas postcards are printed and will be sent into our community.  Help us invite friends and neighbors to our Christmas worship services!  Postcards will be available following worship.

Circle Meetings on Tuesday, December 9, at 12:30 pm. See the hostesses on the calendar page.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing - an Intergenerational event!  We have reserved both doors on Saturday, December 13, at the Cub Food store in Plymouth, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on that day.  Bring a cheerful holiday spirit as we help the Salvation Army raise money for their important outreach.  Sign up with Pastor Jeff and let him know what time you can be there!

Join us at the Christmas Music Festival, Sunday, December 14, at 4 pm.  The theme is "Cradled with Many Voices" and will feature musical styles used throughout history.  We hope you will be a part of this Peace tradition, in our musical celebration of the birth of Christ. The offering gathered at this service will benefit our local food shelf, IOCP.

We are currently in need of two Sunday School teachers.  These openings are for team-teaching the Three and Four-year-olds or the Fifth and Sixth grade class.  We are also looking for high school students to help in the pre-school class.  These positions would begin after January 1, in 2009.  If you are interested, please contact Carol Forsberg.

Peace will be hosting Families Moving Forward homeless families the week of January 4, 2009.  Please sign up to help set up, take down bedrooms, host for an evening or overnight.  Other opportunities are available on the sign up sheets in the narthex. Contact Jan Mostrom.

Altar flowers are given today by Ross and Jeanette Colligan in honor of their grandchildren.

Looking to share your talents at Peace? Join the Evangelism committee. Contact Jim Broge.

December Need-Of-The-Month This month we are collecting items Midge Shaw will bring to the Dominican Republic on her mission trip in January.  The list of items can be found in the December issue of Peace Notes, and also by the Dominican display in the narthex.

Please consider a wonderful volunteer opportunity.  Marian Olson is stepping down as the Peace coordinator for the Meals on Wheels program, so we need to fill her shoes.  The December Peace Notes has the details, or talk to Deb Weir, Pam Jette, or Carolyn Stark.

Davey and Goliath's Devotions for families on the go!  Each week has four pages of fun-filled Bible-based activities.  Pick up a copy of the winter issue at the Information Center.

Even as the season of Advent begins, we are overwhelmed by the trappings of Christmas.  They are all around us.  The "positive parenting" columnist in this month's Metro Lutheran offer practical tips on how not to be crushed by the onslaught of holiday expectations. Copies of the December issue are available today at the Information Center.
