Today at Adult Forum: Centered Life focus: presented by Murrae Freng. Meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:35 a.m.
"Why me, Lord?! What have I done to deserve THIS?!" Almost everyone asks such questions sometime in their life. To be human is to sometimes suffer. To be human is also to wonder why. When Bad Things Happen to Good People by Harold Kushner is a classic book that explores these questions of suffering. Join us in a 6-session study of this book (as well as parts of the Book of Job) at the Wednesday Evening Adult Study group starting November 5. The group meets 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the Fireside Room. You may pick up your copy of the book this week in the church office for $10.
A Theatre Troupe is being formed. You can attend a short informational meeting at church next Sunday, November 9, following the first service. If you have questions or want to be involved, but can't attend the meeting, call Hope Murray at (612) 240-1735.
The Older, Wiser, Lutheran Seniors have planned their next event! On Wednesday, November 12, they will visit the Minnesota History Center. The unusual exhibit, "Vatican Splendors" is on display. The Minnesota Sesquicentennial display may also be viewed. The cost is only $15. and the cost of your lunch. Meet at the church at 9 o'clock in the morning to carpool to the center. Sign up at church on Sunday November 2 and 9, or call Luther and Ilene Forde.
Come and Learn! Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training on Wednesday, November 12, at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of this session is to establish a comfort factor with the machine, to be prepared in case of emergency. The AED is safe and easy to use and when turned on, will instruct the user what to do! No previous medical training is required. Our hope is to have a number of people familiar with the AED so to respond appropriately. Please consider serving!
Altar Flowers are given to the glory of God by Roger and Angela Birnbaum.
Many thanks to volunteers John and Marian Olson, for hours and hours of labor tending our garden spaces. They spent all summer pulling weeds to keep them cleaned and most recently, trimmed the shrubs and perennials to prepare for winter. We appreciate your hard work!!
