The Fall Holds Us Down

Jacob Sahms

I was intrigued by the Resistance's mantra that "the Fall holds us down, truth sets us free." The Fall here is a form of reverse gravity transportation between the main territory and the Colony. But from a Judeo-Christian perspective, the Fall is (broadly) the separation of humanity from God based on choices made by Adam and Eve.

The Hobbit The Hobbit
Not Just Two Movies... Now It's Three!

Well, rumors have been swirling recently about the possibility of Peter Jackson's Hobbit project turning into a trilogy.

Well, much to the delight of many a fan-boy, it appears like that's exactly what's going to happen. Here it is, Peter Jackson's own words from a recent post on Facebook...

Dark Knight Tie-in from Paul Asay

When Bruce Wayne puts on his mask and straps on his utility belt, he's not playing dress-up. In his case, clothes really do make the man.

What he wears is in some critical, half-understood way more reflective of the real Bruce Wayne than his billionaire playboy facade is or could ever be. When he wears this dark guise, Bruce shoots past eccentricity and reaches beyond weird.

This is more than a mere oddity. It's a psychosis. Or... a calling.

Farewell, My Queen Farewell, My Queen

A Somebody, or a Nobody?

Darrel Manson

There are earth-shattering events going on, and the people at Versailles are well aware of them, but the story in this film is of a more personal nature. It is about a relationship that Sidonie may think (or at least wants to think) has elevated her into a new status.

Swinging for the Fences

Jackson says "three movies," and the studios agree. This just doesn't happen in the film industry. Not this way. What is going on?

Hobbits 2 & 3 Get New Titles?

New Line Cinema has reportedly registered new movie titles which relate to The Hobbit. I rather think Jackson has given us huge hints as to the content of the films in the titles registered today.

What Defines a Hero?

Ed Travis

Now on Blu-ray. Maybe Driver is distinguishable as a hero in the corrupt universe of Get The Gringo because he is willing to sacrifice himself for the well being of those he loves. On the flipside, one of the lead villains, Javi (Daniel Gimenez Cacho), is specifically out to kill our lead characters for his own benefit.
