   The Hunger Games
Hungry for the Games Analysis by Steve Norton
It's no surprise that the film was top of the box office this past weekend. What was shocking, however, was the fact that it absolutely shattered box office records, bringing comparisons to both the Harry Potter and Twilight franchises.

   Mirror, Mirror
   A Disappointing Beauty Elisabeth Leitch
While Tarsem definitely brings his knack for creating some of the most artistic and beautiful canvases to the big screen in Mirror Mirror, as even the movie itself reminds us, beauty in and of itself is not everything.

   Friends Sarah Brock

Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey, and Phoebe. For ten years they were the best friends that we had. Every Thursday we invited them into our homes. The show was both well acted and well written. My mom and I loved watching it. But it's been off the air for eight years. Why am I blogging about it? Because......well.....I just want to!   There were many great story lines, like Phoebe finding her birth father and Chandler and Monica hiding their relationship. But, as strong as the show was, there were mistakes that were made.     Did it ruin the show? Certainly not! But they are worth noting... |

  Defining Our Media Boundaries
 Jacob Sahms

"Enough is enough." It's a resounding refrain heard related to consumption of food and drink, the attitudes and behaviors of certain individuals who cause frustration constantly, and the dissatisfaction expressed toward politicians and leaders.   But when is "enough is enough" the appropriate response to media?   Different reviewers at HollywoodJesus.com have tackled television material considered to be "too graphic for all audiences," and not all of us agree on where to draw the line.     You can check out our reviews of Spartacus, True Blood, Camelot, Justified, Game of Thrones, Desperate Housewives, The Walking Dead, and The Killing. Or maybe you draw the line farther back, at the sexual banter of The Big Bang Theory or the mere title of GCB.      Consider the trailer for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones...   Read more, and sound off!

If something completely blows my mind I may add a full review or an extra piece about it. I also have a couple of interviews lined up that I'll share with the Hollywood Jesus crowd as soon as I can perform and transcribe them!

SXSW 2012 Days 8 & 9
Sorry about the major delay between the last post and this final SXSW film entry. When 24/7 of my time during SXSW was committed to the festival, I was able to get a great amount of writing done. But once real life returned, I fell behind...
