Can the Broncos Win in Week 1?

Welcome back, sports fans. Yes, it's football season once again. The athletic millionaires who have enough money to pay of the national debt figured how to keep more of it for themselves, and the NFL season was able to kick-off on time!

Interestingly enough, one of the biggest on-going stories of the barely-there off-season was Tim Tebow. If anything, the fervor around him increased since the end of last season. It's kind of strange, actually, because how many teams out there have a third-string quarterback that generates more news than the starter? For that matter, how many third-string quarterbacks do you even know by name?

The whole debate over whether or not Tim Tebow should start, or even be the back-up, has raged on and on, and so for another season of Madden 12 NFL sims, it seemed only appropriate to bring back our weekly What Would Tebow Do feature. Each week we'll sim the Broncos game on Madden 12 with the only change being Tebow in as the starter. We'll then compare our stats with the actual game stats and see if Tebow really could make a difference as a starter.

So, are you ready for some football?

Madden 12

Tough But Still Fun
Working Our Way To Perfection
Yo | 08/26/11

Not that long ago, we weren't even sure if there was going to be an NFL season this year. However, as depressing as that thought was, one thing that sustained football fans such as myself was that even if there wasn't actual NFL, we'd still get a chance to enjoy the virtual NFL with the always excellent Madden football game.

As Spring passed and Summer waned, it looked more and more like perhaps Madden NFL 12 would be the only way fans could experience their favorite past-time this year. Fortunately, the owners and players figured out how they could all comfortably be even richer than they already are and decided they'd be happy to continue enjoy their success through taking the money of fans such as myself.

Whatever; I just want some football.

All that aside, I'm so glad that Madden NFL can be relied upon to consistently deliver an enjoyable football experience each and every year, often with out any labor disputes (and by the way, EA, that's one feature I don't want in my game). Madden NFL 12 delivers on that once again, with some nice tweaks and improvements to enhance an already solid sports sim.

The Bible On Facebook
Bobble-head Moses Isn't So Bad

Yo | 08/19/11 | Click to Comment

The Journey of Moses The Journey of Moses is described as an adventure game, as opposed to something more sim-like such as Farmville. In it, you explore various areas in order to find the necessary materials to advance the story. For instance, early on you had to find all the pieces to your Egyptian prince outfit so you could properly present yourself to Pharaoh.

As you move through each area, you'll hit upon various milestones in the life of Moses, like his life as an Egyptian prince, the realization that he's actually Hebrew, his expulsion from Egypt after a confrontation with a guard, and so on (and yes, you will get to part the Red Sea).

The very fact that this game does a pretty good job of clearly relating these events in such a simple format like a Facebook game is pretty impressive.

There are also some Animal Crossing type elements as well. When you aren't moving the story forward, you can always help improve your camp area with new furniture or plants, or things like fig trees and wells which can help provide materials you'll need for the journey...

First Look At The Multiplayer
Don't Mess With Success

Yo | 09/02/11 | Click to Comment

So we all know that in Battlefield 3 we'll get to fly jets and drive tanks and cause all kinds of devastating destruction. But what about Modern Warfare 3? What can we expect in that multiplayer?

Well, fret not fans, Activision was kind enough to share a little peek into where you'll most likely spend many hours with Modern Warfare 3, so take a look and then tell us what you think of it; does it look like fun? Better than Battlefield 3? Just more of the same?
