I am going to be updating my coverage of SXSW 2011 as frequently as possible all week, hopefully every day.

What that will look like will be a brief synopsis of my day and mini-reviews of the films that I see daily.

I will be conducting several interviews but it will take me a little while to get those posted.

Bellflower and Cold Sweat
03/20/11 | Comment HereI gave in to the insanity of SXSW Music on Thursday the 17th. My wife and I just walked around the city and stumbled into about 3 or 4 different free concerts and venues while also stopping on street corners to listen to any number of bands.

The Beaver and Kill List
I simply wasn't prepared for the chaos that would be unleashed on Austin, TX. Streets were closed, parking garages were filled, highway access roads became literal parking lots. Austin, TX just plain blows up when the Music festival hits.
Caught Inside, Sucky Teen Romance, Hobo With A Shotgun
As you may have picked up by this writing, South By Southwest is not just a film festival, but also a music and "interactive" festival. My film badge did get me access to a number of panel discussions, of which I only took minimal advantage.
Ain't It Cool Day
Guillermo and Harry took the stage afterward and just delved deep into their love for the film, the ideas it presents, and its impact on geek culture. This conversation between two geek heroes was wonderful and it just reminds all of us that right now is the best time ever to be a geek!
Hesher and Attack The Block
I finally felt like I took a little bit of command of my schedule. This is one of those kinds of days where I am thankful to God for allowing me to be inspired by films and to experience Him through art and life.
Happy New Year, Fightville, and The Innkeepers
On Saturday I caught a couple of winners, and a conflicted loser. I also started learning just how totally impossible it really is to do and see everything you might want to at South By Southwest.
