New Zealand Hobbit Shoot in Jeopardy, Says Peter Jackson
It appears that the filming of the Hobbit movies will be moved out of New Zealand - barring a minor miracle.
According to the New Zealand Stuff website, Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh made comments this week that the studios have lost confidence that their money would be secure in New Zealand, despite the fact that the actors unions have taken the project off their blacklist. With a $500 million budget for the two films at stake, Warner Bros. ...are coming down to New Zealand to make arrangements to move the production offshore. It appears we cannot make films in our own country even when substantial financing is available.
The Hobbit producers say they will continue to battle to keep the film local, but Warner will make the final decision. Hereafter
What Is Beyond Life? Darrel Manson
Death may be the most universal concern among people. Not just the fact of death and how that affects our lives, but the question of what, if anything, lies beyond life. That question may lie at the very heart of all spiritual and religious thinking. It may be the very reason religion developed-as a way of trying to see and understand what is beyond that veil. Hereafter is in large part a meditation on that question.

Jackass 3-D
Count Me In, I Guess David Bruce
Can the boys give us something new? Can we see it with our goggles on? Hard do believe we've been at this for ten years. But it works. It really works. We enjoy laughing. We enjoy watching people do... well, stupid things.

Featured Interview, Part II: Derrick Warfel
Director Derrick Warfel Talks God Greg Wright
"There are a lot of opinions about prophets and whether we have them at all today," says Warfel, "but I decided: suppose we had a prophet exactly like Isaiah today, and God had given him knowledge about who you were, without him possibly knowing it any other way. That would be a very frightening thing, someone standing in front of you and saying, "No, that's not what really happened." It'd be like standing there in front of him naked, stripped clean of all of your excuses. Somebody could see into your soul. That would be a very scary thing.
"It's like Joe says in the film, 'I think he can read my thoughts. I think he even has.' It would be representative of God, not just that he could predict the future but knew things about you that you did not tell him. I think that would be a very disconcerting thing. And I think that's the whole concept.
"You know, it's funny. You can drive down the street and pass a cop car, and though you might not be doing anything wrong, you suddenly start checking your speed, and everything else that you're doing. You know what I mean? That kind of analysis of who you are makes you realize just how sinful you really are." Click through for the full interview.

The Dry Land: War Homecoming The Lasting Impact of War For many soldiers, the war really doesn't start until their return home: the lasting impact on friends, family and those around the returning veteran. Oceans
Feel the Power Jacob Sahms
Now on Blu-ray. I'm fascinated by water. I can't help it. Maybe it's because I grew up on an island. Our world is wonderful, and the oceans all around us are full of mystery.
