pursue a lifelong dream of making a career in the film industry! And
after reading about it for years, I finally get a chance to attend
Fantastic Fest! I'll be covering the festival for Hollywood Jesus from
roughly Sept. 23rd-30th (the dates of the festival itself). What IS Fantastic Fest? Sold as a film festival "with the boring parts cut out," Fantastic
Fest is a genre festival. Their goal is similar to many film festivals,
which is to have a venue to show independent and upcoming films in
order to help filmmakers find a distributor, or just to excite the
domestic market about upcoming sequels or large budget films. BUT,
Fantastic Fest's twist is to make the festival as geek-friendly as
possible. After all, it is programmed by and for geeks! Thus, action,
