Final stages of production for 2012-13!
We are in the final stages of producing the 2012-13 International Milling Directory. IMD 2012-13 is celebrating its 21st year of publication and will prove to be the most comprehensive and easy-to-use handbook we have produced to date.
It will be back from the printer in Early September for distribution to named individuals working in the flour, rice, feed and grain milling sectors globally. The IMD is a stand-alone publication that is a must-have document on your desk, in your briefcase or in the glove box of your car. You should never be too far away from your personalised copy as it contains information that will assist you in your daily work. It's much more than just a list of names and addresses.

A word from the Directory Manager
 Hello and welcome to our listed companies and valued subscribers. As you are probably now aware production for the the exciting 21st printed edition of the IMD has now begun. I am thrilled by your participation so far and it is excellent to see that so many of you have submitted equipment guides in the past week.
The category list for these guides has doubled in size this year and I have already had feedback to suggest that the pattern will continue into future editions, a true statement of the value that you see in this service.
I strongly advise those who have still to update their listings, submit guides or artwork to do so as a matter of urgency. It has been a delight in talking with you all so far and I am happy to be at your disposal to guide you through the final stages.
IMD 2012/13 promises to be our best edition yet thanks to the many marketing options tailored to your needs, its smart design and importantly your participation, the rewards of which I am sure you will soon be enjoying.
Remember the IMD is not just a directory, it is the vital tool in keeping you connected with the international milling community.

FEFANA and EPA Join Forces in Probiotics Pursuit
FEFANA and EPA have established a cooperation agreement to collaborate for the promotion of probiotics for animal nutrition. The two associations have recently joined their forces with the aim to generate, develop and share their expertise and information on probiotics with feed chain stakeholders.
FEFANA is the EU Association of Specialty Feed Ingredients and their Mixtures while EPA has been created to specifically support the generic promotion of probiotics in feed. Through several initiatives they inform and update the scientific communities, nutritionists and the relevant industries about the benefits of probiotics in animal nutrition.
While FEFANA's activites are mainly focused on regulatory aspects impacting the specialty feed ingredients industry; this joining of forces will strengthen promotion of probiotics toward the feed chain partners which is a major incentive. The main ambition of this joint group is to better position the probiotics in the national, European and International arena as a pivotal source of information and thanks to combining their activities, this position is strengthened.
The joint group will work on a series of communication activities along the year on topics already identified and related to subjects perceived as important and/or innovative for probiotics information on which you will be able to find on their newly designed website once it has been built. in the near future.
The traditional Jules Tournut Probiotic Prize, created by EPA in 1999, will also be granted in November 2012 during the Eurotier in Hannover, Germany, to reward researchers for their innovative works in the field of probiotics in animal nutrition.
The joint group will operate within the FEFANA structure and make sure that their activities fit to the Specialty Feed Ingredients Industry overall objectives. Gérard Bertin, EPA Secretary General, will take care of the management of this joint group, with support and involvement of the FEFANA staff.

AgriTalk Unveils Big Plans for 2012
AgriTalk India-2012, India's first biggest expo on agriculture will take place this year as part of a collaboration between Junagadh Agriculture University, Aatma Project and Infocom World both of whom are based in Rajkot, Gujarat. The expo is scheduled to be held for 23, 24, 25 & 26th December 2012 at Shashtri Maidan, Gujarat with the aim of the exhibition promoting agriculture entrepreneurship among farmers.

Black Sea Grain and Oilseeds 2012/13
With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Administration of the Krasnodar Territory the Russian Grain Union together with the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies hold the next XVIIIth Annual International Conference 'Black Sea Grain and Oilseeds 2012/13', on September 6, 2012 at the Renaissance Moscow Hotel.
Historically, this Conference is a forum for active discussion on the current situation at grain and oilseed markets in Russia and globally.
The Conference will be opened by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation
Ilya Shestakov, among confirmed speakers are:
- Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation - Andrey Klepach, Chairman of Krasnodar regional branch of the All-Russian public organisation "Russian Agrarian Movement" - Evgeny Gromyko

Grain of Russia
August 5, 2012 is the deadline of the early bird fee for participation in Grain of Russia 2012.
APK-Inform Agency and the National Union of grain producers continue realising preparation works for holding of the international conference 'Grain of Russia - 2012' (September 24-25, 2012, Rostov-on-Don, Hotel Don-Plaza).
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation provides support for the conference.
The company Ingosstrakh is the sponsor of the conference.
August 5, 2012 - a deadline for the early bird fee for the conference. The new fees will be the following:
Terms of payment
- US$780 - If paid till August 5, 2012
- US$880 - After August 6, 2012
Therefore, we recommend all companies planning to attend the event, to apply before August 5, 2012. The last year conference 'Grain of Russia - 2011' gathered over 280 people from 20 countries worldwide. The large and medium-scale agricultural producers, agricultural holdings, traders, grain processor, logistics, surveyors, lawyers, etc. form the primary target audience for the event. IAOM Schedule at a glance
The Leadership Council is busy finalising the list of speakers for the 3rd Annual IAOM Southeast Asia District Conference & Expo! The meeting is scheduled to take place October 8-10, 2012 at the Marriott Hotel in Manila, Philippines.
Prior to the two-day technical meeting, we will be holding a Pre-conference Food Safety Workshop on Monday, October 8, 2012.
This year the organisers are expecting more than 200 milling professionals from across the Southeast Asia region to participate in the two-day conference and expo and pre-conference workshop.
