Dear Valued Subscriber
With a great deal of positive feedback about International Aquafeed from Aquaculture UK 2012 which was held in Avimore, Scotland, the Perendale team in Cheltenham has been stimulated to work even harder to ensure it is the best in its field.
If you have spotted any up-coming events this year that we have not mentioned yet and which merit inclusion in our publications, please drop me an email. We like to recommend good events that are worth attending to all our readers. We see events as the 'high street' for an industry in a certain location and the companies exhibiting as presenting a 'shop window' for their products. We encourage our readers to attend events where they will see and have explained the latest technology in our industry. In fact, our Events Register tells you where and when an event is, its focus and what companies from our International Milling Directory - which includes many in the aquaculture sector - will be attending along with their product range. You can even make contact with an exhibitor to tell them you are coming!
Read below news about the BioMarine Business Convention event to be held in London in October - it is something you shouldn't miss.
Our interest in events and industry news shows you how committed we are to our readers, advertisers and writers alike. Our technical and nutritional content comes to you via our magazine and digital distribution systems, our event and magazine-related news via our monthly e-Newsletter and our aquaculture news via our daily blogs and twitter feeds, etc (see below). Connect with us to keep up-to-date.

Thoughts from the Aquafeed Team
The International Aquafeed magazine team has been working hard to improve the quality of the magazine. We hope you enjoy the new features, which include industry columns and a species focus.
With the May/June 2012 issue of International Aquafeed now in circulation, we've turned our attention to our blog, The Aquaculturists. In case you don't know, The Aquaculturists is a great place to keep up-to-date with the latest news from the aquaculture world. This month we have revamped how we bring you the news. As well as a daily digest of the most important news stories of the day, we delve into the IAF archives and revisit our most popular articles. We know readers love shows so we also blog relevant events information as soon as we get it.

NEW SINGLE PAGE VIEW FEATURES
|
We have had feedback recently from you - our readers.
You have been telling us that the double-page features that you have been enjoying for the last few years are becoming a little hard to read, due to the way our distribution sites display them as double-page spreads - and the fact that more and more of you are using small ultra-portable laptops and tablet computers. To address the issue (and hopefully reduce the amount of time you are spending with the zoom button!), we have switched to a single page view on all of our online features, that we hope will make things a little easier for you to read.
The IAF team hopes you enjoy this issue's offering, and would love to hear your views on these improvements!

Industry Event News
|
Things are getting exciting as the BioMarine Convention draws nearer: Each of the convention sponsors will be conducting a Think Tank on a specific area of the biomarine industry. Recently, Z2O and Sofiproteol have joined the sponsor line-up. Z2O will run the think tank on 'Marine biotech for the environment', while Sofiproteol will take charge of 'Marine macro-algae and nutrition'.
The BioMarine Convention is a conversation rather than lecture based. It is your chance to interact with high-level experts and decision makers in a confidential and proactive manner. This gives you the opportunity to engage and put your views forward for consideration and inclusion in the final report of outcomes for the event.
The event has been listed on the EU's 'Maritime Events' website as well as on its 'Fisheries' website. The events latest addition on its opening panel is Helena Vieira, CEO of Bioalvo SA in Portugal. She has agreed to participate on 'Women Executives' Debate on Marine Bio-Resources.' For the full program click here.
The organisers are offering a pre-summer registration discounted fee of just €600 (excluding VAT)! To take advantage of this offer please visit the registration website and register under 'Clusters Fees'. Please be sure to register before June 24, 2012 to take advantage of this pre-summer discount.

AQUA 2012
With AQUA 2012 just a few months away, we are very excited to learn that the theme of the event is "Global Aquaculture - Securing our Future". This theme has obviously applicable to global and regional food security and aquaculture trade. The organisers highlight that it also refers to economic and environmental sustainability and the image of aquaculture activities.
With these points in mind, the two keynote speakers will address the theme from an industry and scientific background. Petter Arnesen of Marine Harvest will give an industry view, and Dr, Geoff Allan of Primary Industries NSW, Australia will provide a scientific perspective.
It looks set to be a very important show for aquaculture, we can't wait.

AQUAMAR
International Aquafeed is proud to be a media partner of AQUAMAR 2012 . Held in Cancun, Mexico, AQUAMAR 2012 is reflects the growing aquaculture industry in Latin America.
The organisers say the event will focus on the interaction of different links in the industry where the exchange of knowledge and future business are important. The 3,000 expected visitors will be able to see a variety of exhibitors, workshops, discussions and different viewpoints.
Participants can also learn about new technical technologies to mark trend in the market.
See you there!
