FIAAP Asia 2012, Victam Asia 2012 & GRAPAS Asia 2012 already more than 50% of exhibition area sold at larger new venue in Bangkok.
Following the success of the last FIAAP, Victam and GRAPAS event in Thailand the organizers have announced that sales for the next event are well ahead of schedule and that already well over 50 percent of the exhibition area has been reserved.
The 2012 event takes place from 15 - 17 FEBRUARY 2012 and will have a similar format to that of the successful 2010 show which attracted almost 6000 industry executives from throughout South and South East Asia. There will again be a FIAAP exhibition (feed ingredients, additives & formulation), a Victam exhibition (feed processing & biomass technology) & a GRAPAS exhibition (rice milling & grain processing). All three trade shows will be co-located within one hall which will enable visitors to view the products and technology they require in order to formulate and operate safe and economic animal feed production and grain processing facilities.
This also benefits the exhibitors as the three shows attract additional visitors from related but different industry sectors to view their displays. There is one major change to the entire event though - the venue. The shows and their conferences will no longer be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, they will move to the impressive purpose built exhibition venue of BITEC in Bangkok.
The Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre is now just a few minutes from downtown Bangkok as from August this year the exhibition centre will be connected directly by Skytrain to the heart of this exciting vibrant city. As you would expect the Skytrain will be fully air-conditioned and will only cost a few Baht for the comfortable journey.
Again there will be specific technical conferences on Aquafeed, Feed Ingredients, Petfood, Biomass Technology, Grain Processing and the Thai Feed Conference. Further announcements on the conference series and programmes will follow shortly. For further information on each exhibition please go to the home pages or contact the Organizers head office in The Netherlands. The local country consultants will also be able to assist you. These are listed on the website - www.victam.com under 'Contact Information' .

Latin America expands GLOBALG.A.P Certification to livestock and aquaculture
The Sao Paulo TOUR 2011 Event Demonstrated the Strength of Regional Producer Networks and Commitment to Food Safety and Quality
Sao Paulo, 8th June 2011
Participants of the TOUR 2011 event came from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and others. They learnt about the progress of GLOBALG.A.P Certification activities in Latin America. The region is bringing about one of the biggest expansions into livestock and aquaculture certification coming from the traditionally strong base of fruit and vegetable certification, a number of initiatives are now focusing on aquaculture and livestock. As host country, Brazil alone showed important advances in the implementation of Good Agricultural Practice in products like poultry (in particular for Europe), aquaculture (native species), palm oil, soya, maize, cattle and others. Brazil also proved how GLOBALG.A.P makes its products more competitive and increases clients' trust.
A presented example of engagement was Nova Mutum. Nova Mutum presented the concept of Good Agricultural Practice for integrating a whole region within Mato Grosso. The standard MUTUMGAP, as main result of this work, was officially presented to GLOBALG.A.P to begin the benchmarking procedure.
Important work has been done by the National Technical Working Group (NTWG) in Latin America. They developed the interpretation guidelines for both Integrated Farm Assurance and GRASP social assessments and the interface with the public sector organizations in the country. Their active participation in GLOBALG.A.P technical consultations place the NTWG as the best tool to achieve the standards harmonization in a country.
Of interest to participants was to learn what impact Asia has on the LA region. Wang Daning, Deputy Chief Administrator, Certification and Accreditation Administration of P.R (CNCA) from China underlined his offer to cooperate with GLOBALG.A.P on the implementation of Good Agricultural Practice in China, and mentioned that this is also likely to have an impact on international trade with China.
Finally, the role of traceability is growing in the entire sector, and that was reflected by several presentations including beef from Uruguay (by Felipe D'Albora, INAC) and also fruit and vegetables for national retail and processing operators (by Thomas Eckschmidt, PariPassu). Traceability is also the pre-requisite for the Primary Farm Assurance - PFA Standard of GLOBALG.A.P to prepare producers on the way to full GLOBALG.A.P Certification.
