Something to think about:
Read a blog this morning by Janet Callaway, a woman who describes herself as a student of Natural Networking, Personal Development and Social Networking. Her blog was entitled "Your Life Purpose in 2 Words." Click here to view the blog.
The article is basically a book report describing a book called The On-Purpose Person: Making Your Life Make Sense by Kevin W. McCarthy.
Here is an excerpt:
My suggestion would be rather than spending time attempting to be someone you aren't, why not discover who you are and what matters to you? Once you do that, you can live your life on-purpose by making the choices that are in alignment with who you are and what you want.
The two words that define your purpose are a part of all you do. In the book, you read stories of people who have discovered their purpose and you see how their 2 words work in their lives. Here are a few examples:
I exist to serve by Liberating Greatness
I exist to serve by Igniting Joy
I exist to serve by Awakening Worth
I exist to serve by Realizing Harmony
When I finished the exercise, mine came to me quite clearly. Though I have never defined my purpose with these words, I have known it to be true throughout my life.
I exist to serve by Connecting People
Since my earliest days I know good feelings fill me when I Connect People with other people, ideas, products or services. Connecting People with someone/something that may be of benefit to them, makes my heart sing.
Perhaps you have not thought much about your real purpose. The exercise of boiling your purpose down to just two words might be fruitful and beneficial.
