Thought of the Week:
Have you heard about this sales idea?
This sales idea came from an agency who was hoping to build the success with their "term desk" - a marketer who specializes in term products and sales. This particular office found that when their term desk was illustrating larger face amounts, $1,000,000+, the insured typically had sufficient income and assets to buy permanent insurance, but they were saving that money elsewhere - often in 401(k) or 529 plans.
To try and get more permanent sales, they now send out an Indexed UL illustration for a portion of the death benefit with each larger term sale - so the insured can still get their total death benefit need, but also can get the living benefits of life insurance by redirecting some of those other savings into a permanent life sale - and you can use that cash value accumulation for supplemental retirement income, or savings for college! Feel free to contact Shaw American if you would like to see this additional type of illustration ran on a particular case!
