 Metallics are Hot!
One of the exciting trends we have noticed over the past few months is the use of metallics on walls, ceilings and moldings. And not just in contemporary homes, homeowners of every style home are requesting metallics in dining rooms, bathrooms, and even children's playrooms. So why are metallics so hot? Savvy designers and homeowners are looking beyond colors and hues and looking for texture and punch. Metallic paints give that unexpected bit of gleam and glamour and really help personalize a space. And paired with an array of beautiful acrylics, metallics can electrify a space and create the most imaginative color schemes. |

 Colors of the Season
Have you ever wondered who decides the 'It' colors of the season? After all, every time you open up your favorite fashion magazine or flip to a home decorating channel, it seems that everyone is using the same color pallette. It makes you wonder, did Simon Temprell call Vogue magazine before he put together that amazing Mediterranean bedroom? Actually, Simon and the editors of Vogue most likely consulted the Standard Color Reference of America. A product of the Color Association of the United States, it is now in its tenth edition. Since 1915, the Color Association has consulted with representatives from hundreds of industries including paint, home furnishings, floor coverings, synthetic fibers, automobiles, motion pictures and even the radio to decide the 'It' colors of each season. So what are the hottest colors for Summer 2007? Think organic greens, metallic blues and fragile lilacs with earthy browns and cheerful bright hues to move away from bling. Gold and silver metallics are another hot trend and can be seen everywhere. |
