Dear Members and Friends of Downtown Bloomington,

Membership in Downtown Bloomington Inc. is not just another group to write a check to!  This group truly represents a diverse membership base and involves that base in determining the direction and decisions that will better downtown Bloomington for all.  Our members are truly our partners, and while joining doesn't mean you are required to attend our monthly meetings, we certainly hope you would.

That being said, it is important that Downtown Bloomington, Inc. continue to build a large membership that represents anyone who wants to buy, sell, build, renovate, trade, serve, house, live, visit, celebrate, create and feed visitors downtown; each of our businesses grows from the success of one-another!  Please consider renewing your membership and joining with us as we work together to continue the strides we have made over the past 20 years and plan for the next 20 years.

As we begin our annual membership drive, we hope you see the value your investment in Downtown Bloomington creates for your business and other businesses, your support allows DBI to continue to attract others who both employ, shop and live downtown!  Membership is $30 for individuals, $150 for basic business membership and $250 Enhanced Membership.

Thank you,

Doug Bruce
Membership Committee Chair

Sunrise Box Office Downtown Visitors Center

Sunrise Box Office is more than a place to purchase tickets to performances at Buskirk-Chumley Theatre and selected area events,  it is our Downtown Visitors Center.  Located off the main lobby of BCT, the office is open noon - 5pm seven days a week.  The DVC is a collaboration between the Buskirk-Chumley Theatre, Downtown Bloomington, Inc.and  the Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau.  The Downtown Visitors Center provides information on the Bloomington area and help in planning your trip.  The involvement of the Visitors Center in the Sunrise Box Office makes the BCT an ideal location for reaching out to visitors and locals alike, maximizing the impact of the "one-stop shopping" for cultural events in Bloomington.  A visitor specialist is readily available to recommend restaurants, hotels, and provide directions to local attractions.  Stop by and learn more about Bloomington activities or visit bloomingtonarts.info

Midtown Lofts, 345 S. Walnut

Mike and Joan Snapp stood in front of the demolition of the former Piggy's Antique Store with big smiles.  After years of preparation that included project concept, design, financing, and approvals it was time to celebrate a milestone.   The dream that began twelve years ago with partnership on the property with Dr. Jerry Ruff had taken a next step.   They knew in the beginning that it would be awhile before the area saw significant investment.   The Convention Center was renovated in 1991, the Courtyard by Marriott opened in 1996, Harmony Downtown was created in 2006 but other than that there had not been substantial renovation or new construction in the southern portion of downtown.   Two years ago they decided it was time to move on the project to be at the front end of major development.   They wanted to create a project that would set a high standard for the development the area.

With the demolition their dream is now is process.  Midtown Lofts which will sit on a half acre will be a four story brick and limestone building featuring 24 stylish dwelling units that include 1 bedroom flats and 3 bedroom, two-level lofts of 2200 square feet each.  The units feature spectacular views of downtown Bloomington.  There is commercial space on the first floor perfect for a coffee shop, retail or office.  The project also includes 18 parking space below ground and 12 parking spaces above ground.

Mike who personally enjoys his guitar and singing is especially excited that the project is located in the Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District.
