Greetings!
Did you know you can't cheat the feet?
In terms of body language we often look into someone's eyes to determine what they are thinking or feeling. However, unless you are a master at identifying micro-expressions (we'll talk about that in the next edition) we miss critical cues.
We spend a lot of time hiding our emotions and masking our true intentions. If you really want to know if someone is engaged or detached, the feet will always give it away! You can't CHEAT the FEET! This is a quick exercise that you can practice to help other people feel comfortable. The POWER to PERSUADE workshop will teach you what to look for from the forehead to the feet in learning how to communicate more effectively with others.
See the Video Below! This event will be unbelievable as we cover the elements of personality styles, revealing the intentions of others with their body language and how to compel others to take action with your word choice.
As a word of caution, do make sure you don't look only at the feet to make snap decisions about people. This is only one aspect of body language that will reveal an individual's comfort level.
Here's what the feet reveal:
- Look at the direction the feet are pointing. If both feet are pointed towards you the other person is comfortable and engaged in the conversation.
- If one foot is pointed towards you and the other is pointed towards the exit, then the individual is looking leave the conversation and unconsciously is gearing up for this.
- If the person is facing you with their torso, but both feet are facing the exit, this is a clear indication that the individual is disengaged and looking to leave the conversation.
- If the feet are casually crossed while standing, this is a great indication that the individual feels incredibly comfortable.
Do have fun looking at feet, but do remember to look people in the eye! The workshop will be interactive, fun, and engaging.
