This Sunday the Rev. Frank Yamada will be our guest preacher.

Frank Yamada is the President of McCormick Theological Seminary in Hyde Park. He is a professor of Hebrew Bible, a Biblical Scholar and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church. Frank was with us last year for the Summer of Awesome and we are grateful that he has accepted our invitation to return again this year.

We are in need of volunteers at our pantry and meal program on Tuesday nights.  This past week we distributed 365 bags of groceries and had a full hall for dinner.  If you can stop by and help out between 5-7:30p.m., we would love to have you.   This Tuesday is family night which means that children of all ages accompanied by their parents will have an opportunity to cook and serve.  See details below about how to get involved.  All are welcome!!

There are five Tuesdays in July. That means "family night" this Tuesday (July 31st). While the regular RCS teams take a break, our children (with a little help from adults) serve our neighbors a meal that small hands can help to prepare.

We are planning to grill hot dogs as well as prepare salads and other items that go well with a barbecue.  (We'll need adults to handle the grilling.)  Families come in all shapes and sizes and are all welcome to help out.   

We gather around 4:30pm but are usually in the most need from 5:15 through clean-up (finished by 7:30 if we are efficient).  Even if you can only come late--or are not in the mood to help small people serve food--your help would be appreciated for clean-up

Yoga teacher and All Saints' parishioner Ruth Frey will teach a (free!) Gentle Yoga class on Monday nights in August. Join your friends and neighbors to stretch, breathe and relax in the All Saints' parish hall during this summer of awesome. Bring a yoga mat and a towel or small blanket.  If you don't have a yoga mat, one will be provided. 6:30 to 7:45 pm on August 6, August 13, August 20 and August 27.

The All Saints' Book Group will be reading Tunnel Vision by Sara Paretsky for Thursday August 9. We meet at 7:15 pm at one of our book group's houses for wine, food and discussion. Contact Aubrey Scheffey for more information at bookgroup@allsaintschicago.org and check us out on Facebook!
