All Saints' Episcopal Church
News for the Week of January 1, 2012
Dear Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have been helping with the Care Ministry and the pantry and meal program over the holidays.

We are aware that it is a very hectic time of year and we are very grateful for all of you who have visited folks and made meals for parishioners who needed help.  We are also grateful for all of the volunteers who have cooked, cleaned, served food, made bags, passed out hot chocolate and hats and gloves over the holiday season.  Thank you for taking the time out to support these ministries.

On Thursday January 5th we will be saying goodbye to Beau and celebrating his time with us as our Parish Administrator and Music Director.  Please join us in the parish hall at 6:30 p.m. for a potluck gathering. Please bring a dish or dessert to share, or just come, beverages will be provided.

Tomorrow is New Year'ss Day and we will continue our Christmas celebration at the 8, 9 and 11:00 a.m. services.

May you, your family, friends and loved ones have a happy, healthy and blessed New Year!

Rev. Fran

After-Holidays Recovery Party and Mexico Fundraiser
Saturday, January 21 at 7pm.

Now that all of those "official" holiday parties are over, it's time to let down your hair and enjoy a relaxing evening. Thanks to the generosity of Mark Ballard, we will be having a fundraising party at the Fat Cat, 4840 N. Broadway on Saturday, January 21. For your donation of $25 you will get plenty of holiday cheer, an open bar from 7:00-8:30 pm, (of course, you are welcome to stay as long as you like), and the great feeling of helping some friends.  Highly-rated comfort food as well as valet parking is also available.

Your donation will go to help our friends at Santa Marķa Virgen.  Padre Byron Chanchavac and his congregation have been working ever since our visit there in August to develop goals and a program to revive the church and plan for the future. At the top of almost every list they have compiled is "learning more about what it means to be an Anglican". There are very few materials available in Mexico, but the Episcopal Church here has been developing educational resources in Spanish.  We would like to help out by sending Padre Chanchavac materials (in Spanish) that they can use as well as some new prayerbooks for his growing congregation.

Get your tickets here.  Contact Dave or Karen Howe for more information.
