Please come! For those who want to travel there together, we will meet at 9:30pm in the All Saints' parish hall (1757 W Wilson entrance) and leave by 9:45pm for the Clark bus down to the vigil. We'd love to know if you're coming- email Jack at jack@allsaintschicago.org or RSVP at the Facebook event here. Here's the official info:
The events of the past few weeks in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood have brought sadness to our human family. We have witnessed and experienced violence in many forms: spiritual, physical, and emotional. In the midst of all the emotions around the violence, the Faith Response to Violence feels called to offer a neutral space for prayer and silent reflection with hope for reconciliation in our community and beyond.
Let's be the change we want to see and show our opposition to all forms of violence and our commitment to building a safe community for all. Please join us for a time of prayer and reflection on Saturday, July 23, at 10:30 p.m. at the 7-Eleven parking lot located at Halsted and Roscoe.
We look forward to seeing many of you on the night of July 23rd, and ask that you keep the Faith Response to Violence as well as the Lakeview community in your prayers. And please bring candles with you to participate in the vigil.
Clergy: Please feel free to attend in collars and stoles, or in the custom of your own faith tradition.
