Within the past few weeks I have witnessed an amazing transformation.
It started with a small group of us realizing that we have a serious problem. We found a hole in the wall and felt overwhelmed on what it would take to fix it. It is a serious problem that requires a serious response. After this past Sunday, however, I find I am part of a large group of people who can and will find a way to repair our foundation. As a congregation, we want to support the walls that shelter us. As we say at baptisms, we will with Gods help.
The transformation though has not stopped.
Last Sunday we focused on the hole in the wall and what we can do about filling it. Bonnie helped us bring clear attention to the needs of our church. The interesting thing is that some of us continued to look around. We saw that the hole was not the only opportunity to improve our physical space. Some of us saw how we could make the All Saints' trait of radical hospitality externally visible. Some of that vision is now going to turn into reality.
I am excited to announce that we have received two generous gifts to help improve our surroundings for ourselves and our neighbors.
The well worn carpet in the parish hall is being replaced! We will have new heavy duty carpet tile. This new carpet will be able handle traffic that our active church brings. It also will be easier to maintain as we can quickly replace tiles that become damaged.
We have received new landscaping! Through a generous donation the outside surrounding has received new mulch, flowers and grass. Outside of the beauty this will bring to our community it is another visible sign that we are taking care of our home because it matters. Because we all matter. Thank you to the donors of these gifts. We welcome all the gifts that support, nurture, and grow our space.
These gifts and the financial contributions to fix the hole all go to securing our sacred space for everyone.
Thank you, thank you thank you!
