Dear Friends,
Happy, happy Easter! We need your help volunteering for the run- here's the link--sign up now!
No 8:00 or 9:00 worship services on Sunday--but the 11:00 will be Beau Surratt's first Sunday on the organ bench with us--so come and sing!!
I'll be preaching, the sun will be shining (here's hoping) and an inordinate number of people will gather to run and raise some money to ensure that people on the margins will have enough food and adequate medical care. Now that's what I call a cool Sunday. Oh yes we'll also have a couple of baptisms. See you soon.
All my best,
Bonnie

Gumbo Stomp 3 Saturday May 14, 7-11pm | | GET READY TO STOMP, shout, or just enjoy the music! Saturday, May 14, 2011, 7 - 11 pm, is the date for our third annual Gumbo Stomp!, a Cajun/zydeco dance party to raise money for our rebuild efforts in New Orleans post-Katrina and for the first time, help save the coastal wetlands. Live music by the terrific Midway Ramblers Cajun Band, dance instruction (optional!), and yummy bread pudding are all included in your ticket price of $25. Beverages and various tempting flavors of Zapp's (planet's best potato chips, made in Louisiana) will again be for sale. Part of the proceeds will go towards saving the wetlands, which are essential for the survival of coastal Louisiana and New Orleans. This allocation is inspired in part by a presentation we heard last October on our work trip to NOLA (All Saints' 10th trip). Diane Huhn, volunteer coordinator for Bayou Grace, gave us insight into how that organization is advocating for change and assisting families in southern Louisiana who are most directly affected by the unnatural land loss that continues daily. Drawing Your Version of Heaven: A Community Art Project
What does heaven look like? Is it simply the sky, a whirl of color, a swath of comfort?
In Eastertide, we observe with joy the days that Jesus walked the earth before his ascension into heaven; before the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles at Pentecost. Local artist Karen Mooney has asked 50 different people/groups to take a square of sidewalk, a date, and draw heaven - as a image, as a reality, as a mystery - what ever works for you - it could be as simple as a listing of chosen words or as complex as your version of the trinity.
If this sounds compelling to you, please join Christy Drackett outside of All Saints' on Tuesday, May 17th at 11a.m. to draw your version of heaven on the sidewalk. Images of our artwork will be posted to the community art project blog, 50dh.blogspot.com, where you will also be able to see the creations of others. Contact Christy if you are interested in participating! ( christydrackett@gmail.com)

| Are we taking the best care of our earthly home? | |
I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and rich produce. But you came and defiled my land and you made my inheritance detestable. (Jeremiah 2:7)
Are we being good stewards? Do we know how?
Lets get together sometime in May & see if we can effect positive change in our lives & our parish life.

Staff Schedules and Space Use
(or...the stuff you've been looking forward to reading.)
Dear Friends,
Following Margaret McCamant's retirement and Beau Surratt's appointment as Associate for Music and Administration, we thought we'd give everyone an update on what our weekly schedules will typically be beginning on May 1. If you plan to stop by to take care of something during the week at the church, it is always best to call and make sure someone will be around or to make an appointment. All of us have meetings and errands that take us away from the All Saints' campus from time to time, even during our regular work times.
Also, if you've been around the building during the week lately, you've probably noticed that meeting space is at a premium. With all of the All Saints' and RCS events taking place in a typical week, the daily space needs of the staff and the outside groups who use space in our building, it has become extremely important to have ALL meetings and events on the church calendar, especially if you intend to occupy a space at the church for any amount of time. Whether you've got a big event to schedule or just a meeting with one or two people, please email Beau at beau@allsaintschicago.org and make sure that your event/meeting has space reserved for it. Doing that will help make all of our lives a little easier. Blessings, Bonnie and the All Saints'/RCS StaffStaff Schedules All Saints'The Rev. Bonnie A.
