Dear Friends,
I invite you to join us for this last bit of Holy Week. In particular, please join us for our Good Friday Evening service at 8:00 pm. Several of our young people from our youth group have worked very hard to create a service that will address some of the structural sins prevalent in our society. This service promises to be both provocative and helpful.
Then on Saturday morning at 9am there is a short, quiet service intended to offer each of us an opportunity to reflect on the death of Christ. Saturday night we will transition from death to life, from crucifixion to resurrection with our first service of Easter--the Easter Vigil at 8:00 pm. We'll gather to hear stories of God's work in our world, we'll have fabulous music, baptisms and an opportunity to sit in the dark and discern where it is that God is working in our lives.
Easter Sunday morning we will gather as the women who followed Jesus did some 2000 years ago and confront the meaning of an empty tomb in our 21st century lives.
There is, of course, also the Community wide Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday from 10 to Noon--rain or shine. With a special visit from the Easter bunny.
Typically Easter signals the slowing of the church year--but that is definitely not the case for us this season. The Sunday after Easter is our 15th Annual Ravenswood Run--we need your assistance volunteering. Please, please click here to sign up to help. Remember that we will not have either an 8 or a 9 worship service on the day of the run--only the 11 o'clock.
May 1 will also be Beau Surratt's first official Sunday as our Associate for Music and Administration! So I very much hope that all of you will volunteer at the run and then stay for his first Sunday worship service to welcome him to our Sunday morning community.
Easter is coming--Spring--it appears not so much!
All my best,
Bonnie
P.S. Easter Morning plan on arriving a bit earlier and bringing bells to ring during the services.

Volunteer for the Ravenswood Run!
| | On Sunday, May 1, thousands of neighbors will converge on the Chicago intersection of Wilson and Hermitage Avenues for a morning of running, socializing and community-building that raises funds to help neighbors in need. Proceeds from the Ravenswood Run benefit Ravenswood Community Services' local hunger relief efforts and the student health centers at Amundsen and Lake View high schools. We need your help to make this race a success. Sign up to volunteer now by filling out this form! Neighborhood Leafleting (Mon 04/25, Tue 04/26, Fri 04/29, Sat 04/30) As part of our community outreach, we will be posting flyers and door hangers along the course to inform neighbors about our race and alert them to the parking regulations for race day. We will meet in the parish hall at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. each day. In-Store Registration and Packet Pickup (Thu 04/28, Fri 04/29, Sat 04/30) We need volunteers to help with registration and packet pickup at the Lincoln Square Fleet Feet store in the days leading up to the race. Shifts are from 9:45am - 1:00pm, 1:00pm - 4:00pm, or 4:00 - 8:00pm. In some cases we can split shifts. Race Day (Sun 05/01) We need more than 200 volunteers on race morning to help set up, register runners, hand out goody bags, check gear, act as course marshals, serve refreshments and assist with recycling, clean up and signage removal. Most jobs start at 6 or 7 a.m. and all shifts will be finished by 11 a.m. Contact Nicole Donnelly at raverun@allsaintschicago.org or 773-539-1020 with volunteer questions. Gumbo Stomp 3 Saturday May 14, 7-11pm | | GET READY TO STOMP, shout, or just enjoy the music! Saturday, May 14, 2011, 7 - 11 pm, is the date for our third annual Gumbo Stomp!, a Cajun/zydeco dance party to raise money for our rebuild efforts in New Orleans post-Katrina and for the first time, help save the coastal wetlands. Live music by the terrific Midway Ramblers Cajun Band, dance instruction (optional!), and yummy bread pudding are all included in your ticket price of $25. Beverages and various tempting flavors of Zapp's (planet's best potato chips, made in Louisiana) will again be for sale. Part of the proceeds will go towards saving the wetlands, which are essential for the survival of coastal Louisiana and New Orleans. This allocation is inspired in part by a presentation we heard last October on our work trip to NOLA (All Saints' 10th trip). Diane Huhn, volunteer coordinator for Bayou Grace, gave us insight into how that organization is advocating for change and assisting families in southern Louisiana who are most directly affected by the unnatural land loss that continues daily. We hope to do some environmental |

Staff Schedules and Space Use
(or...the stuff you've been looking forward to reading.) | | |
Dear Friends,
Following Margaret McCamant's retirement and Beau Surratt's appointment as Associate for Music and Administration, we thought we'd give everyone an update on what our weekly schedules will typically be beginning on May 1. If you plan to stop by to take care of something during the week at the church, it is always best to call and make sure someone will be around or to make an appointment. All of us have meetings and errands that take us away from the All Saints' campus from time to time, even during our regular work times.
Also, if you've been around the building during the week lately, you've probably noticed that meeting space is at a premium. With all of the All Saints' and RCS events taking place in a typical week, the daily space needs of the staff and the outside groups who use space in our building, it has become extremely important to have ALL meetings and events on the church calendar, especially if you intend to occupy a space at the church for any amount of time. Whether you've got a big event to schedule or just a meeting with one or two people, please email Beau at beau@allsaintschicago.org and make sure that your event/meeting has space reserved for it. Doing that will help make all of our lives a little easier. Blessings, Bonnie and the All Saints'/RCS StaffStaff Schedules All Saints'The Rev. Bonnie A.
