The Crunkleton Lecture Series: Four Roses Bourbon

On Thursday, February 24 at 7:30 PM, join Master Distiller Jim Rutledge from Four Roses Distillery at The Crunkleton. Celebrate three of his finest bourbons, The Marriage, The Single Barrel, and The Small Batch.  As is the case for all of The Crunkleton Lecture Series, the spirits will be pouring with bourbon based cocktails and tastings. 34th Carolina Jazz Festival

 The Carolina Jazz Festival will be held from February 16-26 with performances in several UNC campus venues and the West End Wine Bar at 450 West Franklin Street. Featured artists include Eddie Palmieri Latin Jazz Band, Conrad Herwig, Joe Chambers, Marcus Printup, and the North Carolina Jazz Repertory Orchestra. Many festival events are free. Battle Park History & Restoration Tour

Enjoy a winter hike and learn the natural history of Battle Park on UNC's campus on Saturday, February 26 at 11AM. Tour the pedestrian trials; discuss the colorful history of the area; examine the flora; and enjoy "Lover's Leap," "The Monarch of the Forest," "Piney Prospect," and other named locations in Battle Park. Shamrock 'n' Run Benefit 5K 2010

For 18 years, the Beta Chi chapter of  Kappa Delta Sorority will host the annual Shamrock 'n' Run 5K in downtown and UNC's campus on Saturday, February 26, with registration starting at 7:30 AM. Last year's race raised over $51,000! Race proceeds are donated to the Durham Center for Child and Family Health and Prevent Child Abuse America. The Shamrock 'n' Run Race Course is USATF Certified, NC-04072-PH. Registration is $15 online before the race, or $20 on race day.  All participants will receive a runner TLC bag with goodies and a long sleeve t-shirt; and child care will be provided. Chapel Hill Comics welcomes back Jason Latour to sign his new crime graphic novel Noche Roja on Saturday, February 26 from 2PM to 4PM. Noche Roja explores a hidden world of corruption where money, sex, politics and crime all add up to the same thing. Jason also did the art for The Last Stand of the Silver Samurai in the most recent Wolverine #1 comic.
