Park for FREE Downtown this Holiday Season! 
Parking is always FREE on Sundays in downtown Chapel Hill, but this holiday season parkingSnowflake - blue will be FREE on Saturdays as well! The Town of Chapel Hill will be offering FREE parking on Saturdays in December at all municipal lots, the Wallace parking deck, and at on-street meters. At 5:00 PM on Saturdays, the Wallace Deck and Rosemary/Columbia Lot will begin charging at their normal rate. CLICK HERE to view a map of all municipal parking downtown. The UNC-Chapel Hill Art Department presents the Third Annual Student Holiday Print & Art Sale at The Artery. Original artwork created by UNC-Chapel Hill students will be on sale including etchings, ceramics, screenprints, photographs, drawings, digital works, and paintings. At very reasonable prices, these one-of-a-kind works of art make great gifts for the holidays. The Chapel Hill -Carrboro Holiday Parade, presented by The Chapel Hill Jaycees, will feature over 60 entries! The parade starts at Henderson Street and winds the entire length of Franklin Street to Carrboro Town Hall. Parking will be FREE downtown for the parade!  For complete details visit

Muralist Michael Brown to Paint at Kidzu!

 After the Holiday Parade on Franklin Street, stop by Kidzu Children's Museum to watch Chapel Hill's favorite muralist Michael Brown in action! Michael will be painting the new mural element that was selected by kids during the Kids Count Voting Campaign at the museum! Kidzu Children's Museum is located at 105 East Franklin Street. The Preservation Society of Chapel Hill is pleased to announce their 2009 Holiday House Tour, "The Spirit of Chapel Hill."  Explore the Horace Williams House and the Wagstaff House, Chapel Hill's finest example of a Colonial Revival home. Also open is Berry Brown Tax House, built by Harriet Berry as a wedding present to her sister. Holiday refreshments and entertainment by, Chapel Hill's own, Village Band, during the tour. One of the longest-running planetarium shows in the world, "Star" weaves art, music and science into a fascinating holiday tradition. Spend the evening on the West End and take advantage of FREE Valet Parking six nights a week! Monday through Saturday - 5:00pm to 11:00pm. Courtesy Valet Parking is provided to patrons of participating businesses with a validated parking receipt. Downtown visitors enjoying other establishments can also use the valet service for a $5.00 charge. Drop cars off at the Valet Parking stand located in front of the UNC Information Technology building (440 West Franklin Street), near the West End Wine Bar.
