Aveda Institute is a cosmetology program that teaches hands-on learning for students, located conveniently in downtown Chapel Hill. Offering an extensive menu of beauty treatments, hair services and spa services, students do not accept tips; instead clients are able to support 'Tips for a Cause' which features a different charity every month.
Last year, Aveda's 'Tips for a Cause' raised $1878.99 for PHC. With your help, we can raise even more! Project Homeless Connect (PHC) is a one-day, one-stop, annual event linking people experiencing-or at risk of experiencing- homelessness with a broad range of services. Guests are offered assistance with housing, employment, health and dental care, mental health care, veterans' benefits, social service benefits, legal services, and more.
This years event, held on Thursday, October 8th at Hargraves Community Center served 235 guests, including 7 children. The event featured approximately 50 service providers, 300 volunteers and 70 donors. Thank you to everyone that made a difference in the lives of many people in our community!

FREE Parking in Downtown Chapel Hill!
Parking is always FREE on Sundays in Downtown Chapel Hill, but this holiday season parking will be FREE on Saturdays as well! The Town of Chapel Hill will have FREE parking on Saturdays in December at all municipal lots, the Wallace parking deck, and at on-street meters. At 5:00 PM on Saturdays, the Wallace Deck and Rosemary/Columbia Lot will begin charging at their normal rate. For a map of all municipal parking options downtown - click here! | |
