GAME DAY INFORMATION FOR DOWNTOWN MERCHANTS:

--UNC will host the Florida State Seminoles on Thursday, October 22 at 8:00 pm. The stadium will open to fans at 6:30 pm. The game is expected to be over around 11:20 pm. The game will be aired on ESPN.

--Special Event Parking rates will be $20 at the Wallace Parking Deck, Rosemary/Columbia Lot and Rosemary/Church Street Lot - starting at 4:00 pm and ending at approximately 8:30 pm. On-street meters will be free after 6:00 pm. For a map of downtown municipal parking lots, please click here.

--Thursday and Friday are fall break, so most students will be gone from campus.

--The work day for UNC employees will end at 3:00 p.m. in time for staff to leave campus and avoid traffic congestion from fans arriving for the game.

--Tar Heel Express and Touch Downtown shuttles will begin at 5:00 p.m, with the lots opening at 4:30 pm. Campus buses will operate under the normal schedule.

--Tar Heel Town will open at 5:30 p.m. and the Old Well Walk will begin at about 5:45 p.m.
As is Carolina tradition, fireworks will announce the start of the game, touchdowns and a win.

1. Decorate your storefront to encourage visitors to come into your business with 'Welcome Carolina Fans' signs, 'Welcome FSU Fans', or the Touch Downtown logo.

2. Offer your version of a Touch Downtown special; a special drink, menu item, Carolina blue article of clothing, etc. It doesn't have to be discounted to be a 'special'!

3. Hang a Tar Heel flag (or opponents flag) outside your business or Carolina blue balloons!

4. Offer a discount to customers that answer a UNC trivia question.

5. Encourage all employees to wear Carolina blue clothing, UNC gear, hats, or buttons!

6. Hold a special event, feature a musician in store, partner with a charity, etc. on game days! Give potential customers another reason to visit your business!

7. Give a prize to the customer dressed in the most UNC gear. If you are feeling neighborly, give a prize to the customer dressed in the most gear from the opposing team!

8. Decorate your store front in Carolina blue or UNC themed items from your business!

9. Create a Tar Heel family environment - offer kid friendly meals, provide kids with Tar Heel related coloring sheets, offer kids a Tar Heel sticker/temporary tattoo or create a Tar Heel arts & crafts area in-store. Parents will shop and dine if the kids are happy!

Touch Downtown offers a unique game day experience that brings fans directly downtown! Chapel Hill Transit runs extended bus transportation at two lots near downtown. The Tar Heel Express shuttle service begins three hours before kickoff and runs three hours after the game with drop-off points including Franklin Street, Tar Heel Town and Kenan Stadium so coming early or staying after to enjoy Downtown Chapel Hill has never been easier. The drop-off site for all six routes is one block from Kenan Stadium and Tar Heel Town. The costs for all Tar Heel Express buses are $5 round trip and $3 one-way.
