Amendment 10-A received the required votes (87) on May 10th to ratify it.  Presbyterians in Lake Michigan, as around the country, have been divided, on this amendment.  We voted 95 yes, 32 no at our November 2010 meeting after a respectful debate.  I celebrate, how in recent months and few years, we have worked hard to focus on what we share, the love of God and service of our neighbors, as Jesus taught.  Our unity is in Jesus Christ's love for us, to continue

Mission Trip to Ghana

Rev. Larry Boutelle, John Petro, Laurie Tupper, and Rev. Seth Weeldreyer, all from Kalamazoo First Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Karen Haak, Interim Pastor at Coldwater First Presbyterian Church, constitute a delegation that will depart on June 15, 2011, for a 16-day Worship and Study Mission Trip to Ghana. Highlights of this trip are to continue

On June 5th this year, Dr. Jeff O'Neill will preach his last sermon in our pulpit and end his pastorate here. It is a day that we wish could be postponed indefinitely, but know he has earned this retirement. He has given us more than can be detailed here.   more details

The Big Tent in Indianapolis  

The Big Tent is a big opportunity--nine great conferences held in one place with joint worship and keynote speakers on June 30 to July 2. Special tracks for children, youth, and college age young people. Participants can take workshops from any of the conferences. It is not often that something this big is this close. Don't miss it! Covenant Gathering 2011

Covenant Gathering - "Peace by Piece"

 

A week of learning, laughter, and worship at the beautiful Michindoh Conference Center in Hillsdale, MI on July 3 to 8.  "Peace by Piece" is the theme, encouraging participants to find God's peace and let it flow like ripples into our families, our churches, our communities, and the world. Children and youth have age appropriate activities. Lots of outdoor recreational activities for all ages. Adult class options include studies on the beatitudes, mission, peacemaking, grieving, and photography as a spiritual practice. Info and registration at www.covenantgathering.com .

a huge variety of timely topics are available for adults, youth,

Free Pews Available at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Flint, Michigan has two storage units of pews available similar to the ones in the attached picture.  Most are 9'-12' long and in good condition.  Must be able to pick them up.  Contact the church directly for more information at (810) 720-5152.
