Note from John
It was good to be together at our February 12th Presbytery meeting. Thanks to our staff, committee and ministry team leaders who prepared for it, and our hosts at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Portage for their hospitality. AND thank God for a reasonable winter travel day!
W e acknowledged and celebrated the ministry of Rich Lichti, our retiring associate presbyter. We have included in this e-bulletin Rich's letter (click here) and a note from Bill Fuerstenau (click here), staff services chairperson, which was sent earlier to pastors and clerks. Rich has touched the lives of so many of us these past two years, including mine. I will miss his listening ear, wise counsel, and loyal support. The Presbytery Meeting offering went to the Rich Lichti Leadership Development Scholarship Fund, if you would like to make a contribution, please send to the Presbytery Office.
The Leadership Team has empowered the Staff Services to form a Search Committee for a transitional associate presbyter for a two year term. Applications are being received by Bill Fuerstenau through Feb. 18. This position is supported by your Shared Mission support.
God bless you in your ministry!

Did You Know.......
One of the most powerful tools for finding information on the presbytery's web site is the search box, located at the top right-hand side of the screen when you are at the web site. It is a partial search, so you don't even have to enter a full name. For example, if you want to find the Church Indebtedness Report, you can enter debt, and you will get 4 items to choose from. For the Declaration of Intent you can enter intent and get 11 items to choose from. When in doubt, SEARCH! |

Communication Corner - Places to Reach the Unchurched
Are most of your friends churched? Do find yourself swapping fliers, invitations and announcements with the same friends and family who go to other churches? If you feel you have no idea where to find people without church homes, here's a list to consider:
- At your house. Sometimes, we fail to realize the members of our own family who do not attend or belong to a body of believers.
- Volunteer projects. If you regularly volunteer in the community, look around and invite other volunteers who you are building a relationship with.
- Running errands. Have you ever asked your hair stylist, barber or accountant to join you in worship?
- Neighborhood gatherings. When you attend the socials or association meetings for your community, why not share invite cards or fliers from the church.
- Co-workers. Does everyone at your job have a church home?
- New members. Often new members are a wonderful source for reaching others who are unchurched. Sometimes their friends are also not churched.
- Next door to the church. When was the last time you placed a flier or invitation in the door of the church's neighbors?
- Parents of your children's friends. Extend invites to all the friends of your children. If the soccer league is having a holiday social, share invites.
- Groups that use the facility. Do civic groups use your church building? Invite their members.
- Where you go. Gyms, libraries, sporting events are all great places.
