Winter Musical Auditions

Any Middle or Upper School student interested in being a part of the upcoming winter musical production, either on stage or behind the scenes, should attend. If you cannot attend but would like to participate, please contact J.P. Ferragamo. More details will follow in an email.  

Barnes and Noble Book Fair

Tuesday, December 6  |  9:00 AM - 10:00 PM  |  More Details

Purchases made online or in any store across the country with the Book Fair ID # 10511848 will benefit Rocky Hill School. Door prizes and special events will happen at the Warwick store.  Lower School students will be enjoying music classes in the store throughout the day and Middle School students who attend will receive a homework pass.  Upper School students are encouraged to have dinner in the cafe.


Got Plastic?

Lower School art teacher Trixie Dumas is requesting donations of clean plastic shopping bags, especially colored ones. Clean bags can be dropped off in Hopelands or Perkins.

Gift Ideas

The Rocky Hill bookstore has great gift items, sale items and new items. The bookstore is open during the week from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  Contact Roxanne Card if you would like an item left at Hopelands for a later pickup.   



Upper School 

Financial Aid Night

Wednesday, December 7  |  7:00 PM  |  Flynn Lecture Hall

Aida Mirante of the Salve Regina University Financial Aid Office will introduce parents and students to the college financial aid process. Ms. Mirante will detail the instructions for both the FAFSA and PROFILE forms, the major documents involved in applying for college financial aid. This is always an informative and well-received session, and we hope that all members of the Upper School community attend. If you have questions regarding this program or any other issue related to college placement, don't hesitate to contact Paul Tukey in the College Counseling Office.

 

On November 13, Amanda Siegel '15 performed in the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestras (RIPYO) concert held in Roberts Hall at Rhode Island College. Amanda plays flute in the RIPYO Repertory Orchestra and recently made All State was ranked No. 1 in the junior division (Grades 7-9).

 

Upper School exams will be taking place the week of December 12. See the Rocky Hill School calendar for specifics. 

 

Community Service Opportunities

Students (16 and older) can volunteer at local Habitat for Humanity projects in Providence Saturday, December 10 and Saturday, January 28.  Contact Maureen Fahey for more information.

 

Middle School 

This week, assistant athletic director and athletic trainer Art Entwistle taught Grade 7 students to protect themselves by proper glove removal after being contaminated with blood (grape jelly).


 

 

Lower School 

Parent Coffee - Science

RHEA Winter Session

Rocky Hill Enrichment Academy (RHEA) is back for another fun-filled winter session for K-5 students.  Courses being offered this winter are Improvisational Theater, Knitting, Lego Animation, Model Rocket Society, Narragansett Bay Experience, Pottery K-2, Pottery 3-5 and Yoga. More details and registration information will follow.

PTL Breakfast Club - Technology 101 for Parents

Don't miss this chance to learn from our very own technology guru, Tom Adams. Tom will talk about what's already here on campus and what's coming up in technology at Rocky Hill.  Google calendars, iPads and Moodle will be discussed and demonstrated, giving you a chance to go hands-on with an iPad if you haven't before.  Tom will answer questions and listen to your comments.

Alumni Spotlight

The Alumni Association hosted a reception for alumni who are current parents and local Alumni Association leaders prior to the Winter Concert last evening. Many thanks to Roch's Fresh Foods for helping cater the event. Alums enjoyed connecting with each other and faculty members, viewing photos from their days at RHS, and hearing the beautiful music created by our talented students.
