NEASC Visiting Committee
Sunday, October 16 - Wednesday, October 19
Rocky Hill welcomes the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) Visiting Committee, chaired by Ms. Anne Reenstierna, Head of Brimmer and May School in Chestnut Hill, MA. The NEASC is a peer accreditation association with the purposes of school improvement and quality assurance. During the past 18 months we have compiled a self-study evaluating all areas of the School, prioritizing ideas and themes for the growth and advancement of Rocky Hill. The Visiting Committee will immerse themselves in School activities, comparing what we said in the study with what they observe. They will assess and rate the School's compliance with the NEASC Standards and provide commentary and guidance for future planning. We also welcome the opportunity to engage in honest, open conversations with fellow educators.

If you are willing to place a sign advertising the Open House on your lawn, please contact Nicole Gammino.

Anyone interested in joining the conversation should contact Jana Bruns. You can also follow along on the Parents Against Junk Dining blog.

Spirit is the name of the game this week as the students in all three divisions stretched their creativity, and wardrobe, to promote school spirit and to have fun. Wednesday was "wacky clash day" in the Middle School, always a favorite.

The idea is pretty simple... sit with someone at lunch that you would not sit with normally. The event is designed to raise awareness about boundaries and division within schools, heighten sensitivity toward social justice, and prompts students to interact outside their normal circles. |
