Head of School Installation
Monday, September 12 | 2:00 PM | Hopelands Front Lawn
All students and parents are invited to this historic event as we welcome the school's eighth Head of School, Dr. Jonathan Schoenwald. This is a "dress up" occasion, refer to the handbook for dress code specifics. The PTL is hosting an Ice Cream Social immediately following to welcome all new families.
Wind Turbine Information Session
Thursday, September 15 | 6:00 - 7:00 PM | Flynn Academic Center
As the school considers the possibility of an on-campus 100kw wind turbine, we will be conducting a series of public meetings. In this session, Nils Behn from Alteris Renewables will give an overview of processes to date, cover timelines forward and answer questions.

13th Annual Fall Classic
The Fall Classic is a fun and casual fundraising event that includes golf and tennis tournaments, as well as a cocktail reception, dinner and auction open to all. There are many ways to participate beyond playing: reserve a table at dinner, volunteer in the office in the coming weeks, purchase space in the program book for ads or pictures of your children, donate items for the auction or place an absentee bid if you cannot attend. Contact Beth DeGerlia at 884-9070 x129 with questions.
Fall Classic Raffle
Prizes for this year's raffle include an iPad II, golf outings and jewelry. Tickets are one for $10 or three for $20. If you are not attending the event, but would still like to participate in the raffle, contact Beth DeGerlia.

Please turn in your pink Student Information Sheets (from the August mailing) ASAP as we need them to complete the school directory. Student photos will be included in the directory unless you opt-out on the sheet. Parent emails will only be included in the directory if you opt-in on the sheet. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, September 13.

Rocky Hill Senior on National Public Radio 
For the past three summers, Will Pontarelli '12 has fueled his passion for history and media by attending courses at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. Will is the youngest participant ever to study at the center and was recently asked by North Carolina Public Radio to help produce a story about the Hurricane of 1938 and a Rhode Island woman who survived the storm on a sailboat. The story aired nationally as Irene made landfall and Will received on-air credit for his work.

A member of Boy Scout Troop 2 EG, TJ Carley '15 earned Life Scout Rank, the penultimate rank.
Chewonki Week
Ninth graders will embark on the annual trek to Wiscasset, ME for Chewonki Week (September 19 - 23) to develop leadership skills, self-awareness and teamwork.

Announcing Rocky Hill Enrichment Academy (RHEA)

Fifth Grader Celebrated as Conservation Dynamo
Alyssa Grayson '19 was recently spotlighted by the Wolf Conservation Center. She is the youngest citizen scientist working on the national wildlife refuges in Rhode Island and is receiving some well-deserved recognition.
