 Microsoft Announes Student-Priced Certification Exams
 Many students are taking advantage of opportunities to get skilled in technology. In support, Microsoft is offering student-priced certification exams to help students earn Microsoft certifications. Student prices are available worldwide* on Microsoft technologies. A full list of the available student certifications can be found here.
If you are still a student and have a valid student identification card, you are eligible for the student-priced Microsoft Certification exams. The special student priced certificate exams expire on June 30, 2010.

Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) 
If you're focusing on a future in computers or any field that requires the use of computer skills then the Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) is for you. The IC3 Certification consists of following 3 Certification exams:
- Computing Fundamentals - cover topics related to the foundational understanding of computing.
- Living Online - cover topics related to working in an Internet or networked environment.
- Key Applications - cover topics related to popular word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications and the common features of Microsoft desktop applications.

Adobe offers three areas in which you can gain certification for entry-level skills. These are:
- Web Communication using Adobe Dreamweaver
- Rich Media Communication using Adobe Flash
- Visual Communication using Adobe Photoshop

Hands-on Training (January 2010) |
- Jan 11: Excel 2007 Basic - 1 Day hands-on course will provide students the
 knowledge to work with worksheets and workbooks to analyze data using a variety of features to create, modify and format common business reports such as budgets, inventory reports, invoices, and charts. This course is designed for students who desire the skills necessary to create, edit, format, and print basic Microsoft Office Excel 2007 worksheets and manage and audit numerical reports. - Jan 12: Excel 2007 Intermediate - 1 Day hands-on course teaches students how
 to apply basic skill sets along with some intermediate to advanced functions to manage and audit numerical reports. Students will work with various functions to perform specific types of calculations, customize charts, work with pictures or shapes in a worksheet, customize formatting for specific types of data, and look at various features for managing different types of lists using a table or database format. - Jan 13: Excel 2007 Advanced - 1 Day hands-on course teaches students how to
 use advanced features of Excel to work with different types of reports. Students will look at various productivity tools to increase data entry, features to enable collaboration with others, and use various commands to analyze large numerical reports. use advanced features to work with different types of reports. - Jan 16 - Feb 6: Computer Basic & Window Vista (4 Sat) - The hands-on course
 provides student the knowledge and skills required to identify different types of computers, the components of a personal computer including microprocessors, motherboard, flash drive, hard disk, Memory, Keyboard, mouse and Input/output devices. This course is designed for anyone learning to use computer and it will also prepare students who are preparing for the IC3 Certification (Module A) Exam. - Jan 16 - Feb 6: Keyboarding with SpeedBuilder CD (4 Sat) - The hands-on

Tip of the Day: Security |
|
A strong password that cannot be guessed by others will help protect the information stored on you computer. Following are some tips for creating a strong password:
- Use at least seven chanracters
- Use a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letter, numbers and symbols.
- If you are updating your password, make sure the new password is significantly different from your old password.
- Do not use common words, name, or words that people might associate with you.
- Do not use your date of birth, place of birth, social security number or driver license number as your password.
