Class Observation Week 
 November 7th-12th
You are welcome to come into the classroom and observe your child's class.
You may videotape
or take photographs of your child.
 
Younger students especially enjoy watching themselves on video and can really benefit from the extra practice by "taking class at home."

cornucopiaAutumn is Upon Us... 
We hope everyone is settling into a school year routine once again.  The first few weeks of each school year are always hectic while everyone adjusts to new activities and schedules.  It looks like it should shape up to be a great year though.  We hope you feel the same. 
It has been as busy as ever for us at MDC this season with many of our classes full and quite a few classes with waiting lists.  We will call on wait lists as soon as openings become available and will continue to do so until costumes are ordered in December.  We may drop or merge a few classes that don't have enough students and try to add others where there is enough interest. Check the schedule on the website for all the revisions

For Our 10th Annual Nutcracker 
Sunday, December 11, 2011

Our Nutcracker- All Jazzed Up! is a benefit performance with all ticket proceeds going to the Mason After Prom.
 
Prospective Angels~
~Must be currently enrolled in Ballet or Ballet/Tap Combo class at MDC for the 2011-12 season
~1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th grade dancers only please
~Prerequisite- 2 yrs Ballet or Ballet Combo class

                    Register Online by 10/15 to sign up.

leosDress Code Reminder 
If you haven't already, please take a few minutes to read over our dress code.  All girls are to wear a leotard to class.  No bare tummies or legs allowed!  If you wear shorts you also need to have on tights.  This includes our hip-hop and jazz classes.   No street clothes.
Shoe color is not important for class but all students do need to have dance shoes suitable for their class type.
The only exceptions to the leotard rule are the ladies in our Adult classes.

costumeCostumes for Recital  

Our teachers have already begun choosing recital music and thinking about costume choices for our June show!  Costume costs are included with our budget billing system so no need to keep track of due dates.  We should have all costume photos posted on our recital page of our website by mid-November after we've attended the UDMA Costume Convention.  We'll go to Chicago for this once again to see the costume samples first hand.  We really think this helps us make better choices for our students.  Costumes will be ordered the first of December.  

 

Measuring Week will be Monday, Oct 24-Saturday, Oct 29.

Please try your best to be in class that week so we can get you fitted for your costume.  We will follow up for anyone missing the next week.  We would like all measuring completed by Nov. 12.  Thanks for your help in this!

This was in the last newsletter but just in case you missed it, a reminder that you can access your account with Mason Dance Center online any time.  You can update your address, phone, email.  You can also check your current balance or make a payment.  You can add a class.  (You cannot drop classes though; for that you need to call or email us.) 
To sign on go to www.masondance.com and click the P near the upper right corner.  Use the email address this newsletter came to you on.  If you forgot your password, it will send you a temporary one so you can sign back on.  We hope you find this accessibility helpful!
