Recital DVDs will be done this year
by FlipBox Productions.
Each DVD will include 2 disks- one a mixed version with close-ups and wide shots and one disk of just the wide shot so no action is missed.
Order forms are available on our website and a few are at the front desk. Checks should be made out to
FlipBox Productions.
You can leave completed order forms at our front desk.
The price per show is $30.
Be sure to specify which show time you want,
1:00, 4:00 or 7:00 pm.
If you have dancers in more than one show additional shows may be ordered for $20.
Your kids will get hours of enjoyment watching themselves and their friends on TV.
You may videotape your child yourself at the Dress Rehearsal. This is a good time to get closeup shots of just your child.
If you wish to videotape at the show on the 5th, you may only do so from the balcony. To ensure that no one's view is obstructed, you may only tape from your seat. No tripods or taping in the aisle ways or stairs will be permitted.

 Recital 2011 -
Sunday, June 5th
We are in our final countdown to the big day. The Recital page on our website contains information and guidelines for making it a great event for all involved. Please read over everything, especially the Details, Details sheet. It has a section just for our Combo class parents. Be sure to ask if there is something you aren't clear on or don't understand.
Each show will last just over 90 minutes. We do ask you to stay for the entire show. With this length we do not have an intermission. It's very distracting for the dancers and the rest of the audience if people get up to leave during the performance. We know you wouldn't want to miss seeing your child dance because someone is exiting from the row in front of you. Please give all the dancers the respect they deserve by staying for the entire performance. The dancers will be supervised backstage during the show and may be picked up after the finale.
Our Dress rehearsals will be Saturday, June 4th at the Mason High School. A rehearsal schedule is posted on your Recital page. There is a copy sorted by day and class and a copy in recital order. Check to make sure you know what time your class is scheduled to rehearse. This is a full dress rehearsal for all students. They are to be in full costume including the correct shoes, tights, hair and makeup. If you have any questions, check with your teacher or in the Costume Previews on the Recital page.
We will also have a Tech Rehearsal (in practice clothes) for the Pre-Pro Ballet on Friday, June 3rd. Warm-up for them starts at 6:00 Friday at MHS.
We try our best to make sure that everyone has all the details needed so you will be able to relax and enjoy the show. It will be here before you know it! |

Competition Group Auditions
Interested in more than a once a week class and one performance per year? Auditions for our 2011-12 dance season are this Saturday May 21st through Wednesday May 25th. You can find information about the auditions at this LINK. All auditioning need to attend this Saturday from 9:30-1. Additional audition times will be determined by what style of dance interests you most. If you have questions, let us know.

 Spring Team Showcase We will have an informal show this Sunday, May 22nd for all our Company, Jr Company, Teams, Duets & Soloists. With so many competition dances this year they do not all fit into the recitals so we are offering everyone another chance to see them. If you're trying out for competition next year come out and see what the dancers have done this year. Admission to the Showcase is FREE and open to all but seating is LIMITED. Be sure to pick tickets up in the office before this weekend if you'd like to attend. It will be held at the Mason Intermediate Campus in the 5/6 Commons. Park in the lot nearest the Methodist Church and enter through door #8. |
 Recital Tickets Now Available
Cost-$12 (General Admission)
If you have not picked up your comp tickets from your recital fee yet, they are in the office waiting for you in an envelope with your name on it. Through May 23 families are limited to purchasing 4 additional tickets if desired. We stagger always availability. Ticket sales will be open to the public on May 31st.
Tickets will still be available for purchase at Mason High School on dress rehearsal & the day of the show if we have not sold out.
**Accounts must be paid in full to pick up or purchase tickets.**

Pictures will be in the office for pick up in about 2 weeks. We will also have them at the High School during Dress Rehearsal and the Recital if you don't get them before then.  Fall Registration Coming Soon
Current students get a bit of a jump start on registration for the 2011-12 classes. You may begin registering online as soon as the schedule is posted. We hope to have it up by June 4th but if is done sooner we will send out an email alerting you. New students enrolled for our summer sessions can start registering on Monday, June 13. Totally new students cannot register until Monday, June 20.
The schedule will be posted online.
All registration will be done online once again and you will have access to your account information through this online portal. Those of you who have been with us for a while this new account portal will be similar to how it was in the past. For current and returning students you will sign with your email address on file. A password to your account portal will be sent to you automatically. Once you sign in with the temporary password you can update your password, account or student info and add fall classes. |
Recital T-Shirts & Flowers
If you have ordered recital flowers and/or T-shirts from the MDC Team Parents' Association they will be available for pick up at Mason High School on recital weekend. T-shirts can be picked up in the lobby during dress rehearsal on Saturday the 4th. Recital flowers can be picked up on the day of the show.
The deadline for ordering flowers is this Friday, May 20 so get your order in now if you're interested.
If you would still like to order a recital T, please see order form for T-shirts by going to this LINK. Shirts ordered after the initial deadline of May 14 will arrive after the recital. The T-shirt design is shown in the article at the top of the page. This year's shirts are lime green with the screenprint design in navy and bright blue. All the MDC dancers will be listed on the back of the shirt. |
Summer Classes 
Our summer schedule is on our website. Summer is a great time to sample something new or just keep active with what you love! This summer we will be offering a three week mini-session in June and a six week session that runs in July/August. June classes will meet twice a week for the 3 weeks. The later session classes meet once a week.
Our summer schedule includes 3 adult classes too- ballet, tap & hip-hop. Moms/Dads, give it a try! Adult classes are pay as you go or you can purchase a class card and save $.

Recital Thoughts
As the time for recital nears & things grow ever more hectic, we hope that you will keep in mind that the recital is a day for the students. We want them to go on stage at least moderately relaxed & enjoy their day, proud of what they've learned this year. Things may not always go perfectly, but the audience usually is unaware of little errors. As adults we sometimes get so wrapped up in all the details that we lose sight of the kids' perspective. We hope they have a great day & you enjoy their show!
