2007 Virginia Youth Tobacco Survey: Big Declines in Youth Smoking!

Gov. Tim Kaine announced on Sept. 9 that youth smoking rates in Virginia have hit the lowest point this decade. The results of VTSF's 2007 Virginia Youth Tobacco Survey are in, and Virginia is almost 5 percent below the national average for high school smoking! Find out more about the Youth Tobacco Survey or read the press release from the event.

Three-Year Program Grant RFP Issued
VTSF grantee
VTSF recently released RFP#852P010 for three-year grants for tobacco-use prevention and cessation programs for youth statewide. The maximum amount granted will be $225,000 per grant for three years (or a maximum of $75,000 each year). There is a total of $9.6 million available for grant awards. The funding cycle will run from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2012. Proposals are due on Oct. 8.
