Anxious? Worried?
Greetings!
In the second reading for this coming Sunday we will hear Paul say "I should like you to be free of anxiety." I'll admit there is a part of me that wants to respond with a hearty "yeah, good luck!" Then again, this is written as a kind reminder and invitation to let go of anxiety and worry. Experience tells us that if we want to live with anxiety we can certainly find reason to no matter how things are going in our lives. However, those times when we are not weighed down by struggles are often much more enjoyable and give us more opportunity to grow deeper in our relationship with God and those around us. I guess St. Paul is right once again, he is telling us this for our own benefit.
"Be anxious about nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God,
which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6, 7

Want to grow in your faith?
We have four Core groups set up for this semester. None of them have a set time yet so that those who are interested can set the time that works best.
Core Groups - Small faith sharing groups (5-10 people) that meet once a week for an hour for 6 weeks starting next week.

Need Prayers!
Campus Ministry has a Prayer box outside of the Campus Ministry Center (T20). Feel free to anonymously request a prayer for yourself or someone else. Each week the Peer Ministers pray for all the intentions in the box. |
