Anxious? Worried?

Greetings!

In the second reading for this coming Sunday we will hear Paul say "I should like you to be free of anxiety."  I'll admit there is a part of me that wants to respond with a hearty "yeah, good luck!"  Then again, this is written as a kind reminder and invitation to let go of anxiety and worry.  Experience tells us that if we want to live with anxiety we can certainly find reason to no matter how things are going in our lives.  However, those times when we are not weighed down by struggles are often much more enjoyable and give us more opportunity to grow deeper in our relationship with God and those around us.  I guess St. Paul is right once again, he is telling us this for our own benefit.

"Be anxious about nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6, 7

Help Needed for Sunday Night Mass
Our community is in need of more ministers for Mass.potter scripture

We especially need more Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors (readers).  New greeters and members of the choir are also welcome at this time.

Commitment is to serve only 1-2 Sundays a month. For more info email Campus Ministry

For all of these ministries the time commitment is not large, but the service to the community is immense. So please take some time and prayerfully discern if God is calling you to serve in any of these ministries as we begin this new year.

Who is that woman  guarding the entrance to Campus Ministry?  Don't worry -- no need to sign in nor will you be interrogated.  Lori Barnstorf is our administrative assistant in Campus Ministry.  She is willing to help out, provide a listening ear and has peanut M&Ms on her desk for the taking.  Lori's oldest child is a student here at CSS (you prefer to be anonymous, don't you, Steph?); she also has a son who graduates from East this year with honors and an 8th grade daughter -- she is the reason for Lori's grey hair!

Lori loves being on campus and has a long history with the monastery.  A number of her elementary teachers were Benedictine sisters; she is an Oblate with the monastery.  Lori also assists Fr. Graham in Catholic Studies.
