FREE SENIOR MOVIE MATINEE - Dancing Alfonso
On Thursday, April 26th at 1:00 pm we are offering a free bonus screening as part of our annual Senior Movie Matinee series. The film, Dancing Alfonso, will be followed by a Q&A with Israeli filmmaker Barak Heymann, the writer and director on the film. See description below:
The film is the story of Alfonso, a Tel Aviv senior citizen, and the lead dancer in a flamenco class with an average age of 75. Alfonso uses dance to express the alternating emotions of hope and rage of a man coping with old age. 50 min. in Hebrew, Spanish, French, and Moroccan with English subtitles.
We will not be serving refreshments following this screening due to the tight schedule at the theater that day.
Reservations are required by contacting me at apopper@burnsfilmcenter.org or at 914.773.7663, ext. 424.
I look forward to seeing you at the movies!

LOOKING FOR A UNIQUE GIFT?...
The Israeli Committee has recently imported handicrafts decorated with tradional Ethiopian embroidery.
We have kippahs, mezzuzah and tote bags. They were created by a group of Ethiopian women who live in
Sderot, a city in Israel's northern Negev region, and situated less than 1 mile from the Gaza Strip. Besides fostering pride in their skills, marketing their work enables them to contribute to their family's income. For further information please contact Irene Matza-Rubin at 914-528- 4024.
