Holiday Gift Drive

*For all who have taken "leaves" from our "tree", thank you.

*For those who have yet to take a "leaf", please come into the synagogue and take some.

*We need to purchase all of the items on the tree and really could use your help.

We will be collecting gifts this Sunday.   However, we don't need to turn the gifts in until 12/12.  So there is still time to purchase items.

Everyone has always been so generous and we thank you.

If you have questions, please contact Deb May at djackson@weiserllp.com or (917) 848-3764.

Giving Tree Details:

THE GIVING TREE IS NOW IN THE LOBBY!

Will you pluck a leaf and add it to your holiday shopping list?

As you may know, the Giving Tree represents the holiday wish list of members of three needy families in the area.  Each year an anonymous list is funneled to us by social workers in the local school system. Our committee translates this into leaves on our tree and then collects the wrapped gifts and transports them to the schools for delivery to these families in time for the holidays.  Many of these folks are new at facing hard times because of job loss or the death of a parent.

Please consider taking one or more leaves as well as a colored sheet with specific instructions.  Then it's important that you contact Debbie May by email (djackson@weiserlllp.com) or her cell phone (917-848-3764) to let her know which item(s) you took.

We ask that you bring the item(s) back, wrapped and labeled with the information on the leaf, to our team at the YJC lobby on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon.

INVITATION TO A SOCIAL ACTION OPEN HOUSE

We invite you to our Open House (with refreshments) at the YJC on Sunday, December 11th from 10 a.m. to noon in a classroom.  Our group is committed to helping to ease local poverty. However, it often seems we are too few for the many tasks at hand.  Why don't you come and see if you would like to be part of our group?....and we thank you for your generous responses throughout the year.
