MEN'S CLUB CYCLING FRIDAYS!!!!

Summer Cycling Fridays with the Yorktown Jewish Center Men's Club (women also welcome!)

For anyone interested in bicycling Friday afternoons in the summer - 2PM, give Bob Altabet a call (914-646-1140) or just meet at the Food Emporium parking lot across the street from Railroad Park and the bike path in town. Rain cancels - call if you are in doubt.
For Friday, July 2. we'll start with a 20+ mile ride going north on the path to Carmel, it's fairly flat, and we'll average between 9 and 11 MPH depending on who shows up (level D ride for those that know the classification system). Once we see who's showing up, we'll consider faster speeds, or more hills or longer distances if you like.

Summer Stories from the Talmud

A light and easy approach to continuing our encounters with Jewish thought during the summer from the Orot committee.

Each session stands alone, if you miss one, just show up for another.

Summer Tuesdays at 7:30PM, June 15 to August 24 in the library

Coordinated by Bob Altabet using the text of Ein Yaakov, a compilation of all the stories (aggadah) from the Talmud, leaving out all the halakhic material and legal discussions. We'll hear guidance and moral lessons and just slices of life from the Rabbis of the Talmud in their own words and talk about what they might mean for us today. Bob will provide xeroxed material. We encourage you to bring your own approach to our study.
