Library e-Notes
"Know where to find the information and how to use it - That's the secret of success."

-Albert Einstein
Dear ,

I've got information on my mind lately.  That's probably because we welcomed APL's new Public Information Officer, Stephanie Simon, to the library this month.  And with more than 16 years experience in the field as a reporter, writer, editor, designer, and information coordinator she's perfect for the job!

She's been plenty busy, but as soon as she catches her breath, you'll be hearing from her, right here in e-Notes.

Here's some of the exciting library news pieces she's been covering:
  • Paintings created by young people who immigrated to the Capital Region from Iraq are on display until March 27 at the Albany Public Library on the second floor of the Main Library at 161 Washington Avenue.  The public is invited to a reception honoring the artists on March 23 from 5 to 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Main Library.  Click here for more information.
  • Congratulations to librarians Scott Jarzombek and Jaimee Meyer for being honored by the New York Library Association's Youth Services Section (YSS) for APL's Summer Computer Camp program.  APL's Computer Camp was recognized as an "example of outstanding programming to the youth of New York State" by NYLA with its YSS Pied Piper Award.  Scott and Jaimee do an excellent job with the camp, and we're excited to see their hard work acknowledged by NYLA. I also have information on my mind because I'm constantly amazed at the sheer volume of information that moves through library doors.  The Librarians here at Albany Public Library are masters at information!  Not only do they know where to get you the information, they help you figure out how to use it.

Cordially,
