Library e-Notes
"Laughter is an instant vacation."

-Milton Berle

Dear ,

The other day my 12 year old called to remind me that she was now "on vay-kay".  For her that means she gets to sleep late and watch four back-to-back episodes of The Gilmore Girls (all seven seasons are available on dvd here at APL).

But vacation also means she gets to stay crawled up on the end of the couch entranced in her latest book.  And since she's raced through the teen vampire series, Twilight, finished the first in the dragon series, Eragon and whizzed through the Wedding Planners Daughter, she's switching between Adeles Geres, Troy and Alison Bechdel's graphic novel, Fun Home (my companion's book club selection).

Said companion has a stack of paperbacks from the Book Cellar here at the Main Library ready for our vacation trip, and I'm relishing the selection of my favorite magazines like Dwell, the New Yorker and my guilty pleasure, People, for the long travel.  I'm even going to try one of the new digital audio books on a Playaway. Two weeks ago I checked out the Fodor's guide for our destination and scoped out the must do's.

Hey, I work here at the Library, but even I'm amazed at all that we get with our library cards!

So if you're planning a trip, make sure to stop by and load up
on all your vacation entertainment and information,

or

if you're having a staycation this year, visit APL, or any library for that matter, to get your fill of everything book, dvd, cd, and magazine related.

And,
