The Barefoot Healer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do you feel better being outdoors? Does your body sing to feel the elements on its skin? Do your mind, heart and spirit feel better by simply being outside? There's a reason for it. For holistic health, your body needs to be in contact with the earth and all her elements. For this reason, earth is the greatest energy medicine expert practitioner around.
Recently, my partner returned on a red-eye flight. Naturally, he was jet-lagged and by day's end he was feeling quite stretched. It reminded me that physicist James Oschman, Ph.D. shared a solution at the Healing Touch Conference in 2008. Turns out we can neutralize jet-lag within about 20 minutes.
Jetlag is a result of our bio-rhythms being off. Bio-rhythms are set and regulated by the earth's geo-magnetic field, aka gravitational field. The best way to connect with the geomagnetic field is to be physically on the earth.
Here's Dr. James' jet-lag formula:
- Wherever in the world your plane lands, get to a patch of untarred earth.
- Take your shoes and socks off and stand on the earth with barefeet.
- You're connecting with the electrical rhythms of the earth and your time center and hormones will straighten out.
The Grounding exercise in this month's "Health is an Inside Job Tip" helps to neutralize the experience of feeling off-kilter, too. It takes what Dr. James has shared and involves you to actively experience the reconnection between the living matrix of your human energy system with that of earth. Try this exercise indoors and outdoors, both barefooted and with shoes and see what you discover.
