 Corporately fasting in January is much the same precept as praying in the morning to establish the will of God for the entire day. If we will pray and seek God and give Him our best at the first of the year, He will bless our ENTIRE year!
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33).
Do you have deep longings for 2011? Things you are aching for God to do in your life? Maybe you've been praying about them but it seems there has been no answer. Friend, fasting takes prayer to a higher level of fulfillment!
When you fast, you embark on a spiritual journey that will change your life. Not only are you more likely to get your prayers answered, you will draw closer to God than ever before.
Last year, we received many powerful testimonies of what God did in the lives of those who participated in Pursuit 21!
Children were delivered from harmful environments...bondages of sin were broken...relationships were restored...direction and wisdom were imparted...men and women received spiritual renewal, supernatural healing, abundant provision and so much more! One woman was radically saved while fasting and reading our fasting blog posts online!
And now we're gearing up for our second annual Pursuit 21: January 13 - February 3, 2011! We'll be kicking it off at Passionate Pursuit next Thursday, January 13th. The fast begins the next day, Friday the 14th.
I'm excited about what God has in store! "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled" (Mt. 5:6).
I have already begun praying for you, that you will hear the Holy Spirit's voice as to how He wants you to fast. You might like to visit our website for helpful information about the different kinds of fasts...and for tips, teaching and encouragement.
Make plans to join us at Passionate Pursuit on January 13th. You'll be encouraged by the message on fasting and the presence of fasting partners who'll be joining you on this amazing journey.
Fasting with friends is powerful...and so much easier! Just ask the women who participated last year. Many said it was their first successful fast because of the presence of fasting partners.
That's why I believe this is the perfect opportunity for us to fast together - to reap spiritual benefit and have the support system of fasting with friends.

Breaking Negative
Emotional Habits:
The Elijah Fast
Do you have a habit of being negative - a habit of seeing the glass half empty? Are you plagued by frequent despair and despondency? Are you so focused on yourself and your problems that you can't see what God is doing in and around you?
Don't feel condemned; you are joined by one of the greatest prophets in the old testament - Elijah. Just as God used fasting to break Elijah's negative emotional habits, God can break your negative emotional tendencies through fasting as well.
"Is this not the fast that I have chosen:...to break every yoke?" (Isaiah 58:6).
