Dear Friend, On this Concert of Prayer day, when so many women from Passionate Pursuit are also fasting, I am including the women of Passionate Pursuit in the Concert of Prayer email and prayer guide.
I am blogging each day of Pursuit 21, the 21-day fast. Today's prayer guide is contained in today's post below: "Fasting Day 7: Where is the Glory?"
This day holds much potential, as Believers are united across denominational lines in fasting and prayer.
If you live in the East Texas area, I encourage you to come to the Pursuit 21 Fasting Prayer Meeting tonight in Nacogdoches. We should capitalize on every chance we have to pray together in person while we are fasting. We will pray for your personal need and for revival in our city, state and nation as well.
I'm very excited to share a brief message called "The Fast Track". The truths I am going to share have transformed my own list of reasons for fasting this year. I've been able to see how each need for which I am fasting fits in a Biblical category of fasting and a therefore, a response of God. It has made all the difference in the world in how I believe God to answer my prayer and fasting.
It's going to be a packed hour, packed with the Holy Spirit - anointed worship and Spirit-filled prayer!! Come let us join in agreement over your reasons for fasting.
I look forward to seeing you there!
"...for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He
is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" Hebrews
11:6 (emphasis added).

What is your greatest need today? Do you need wisdom, healing, power or protection? The Bible tells of men and women with the same struggles that you face today. They sought God's face through prayer and fasting and experienced a miracle for the different situations they encountered...and so can you.

Fasting Day 7: Where is the Glory?
The 1859 revival is attributed to three things - three things,
incidentally, that you and I are demonstrating today in the Concert of
Prayer:
- Interdenominational unity - believers prayed at the nearest churches.
- Prayer - The revival came not through preaching, but through believers united in prayer, regardless of denominational affiliation.
- Laity - It began as a movement among the worshipers, the lay people, as opposed to the clergy.
As I shared with the women of Passionate Pursuit last week, God has
led me to focus our prayers each Thursday of the fast on local and
national revival.
I am not aware of all the different denominations represented in the
Concert of Prayer, but from what I know, there are many. The Concert
of Prayer began as a Passionate Pursuit endeavor and quickly expanded
to include people from across the nation praying at 6:30 each Thursday. At Passionate Pursuit a host of denominations are
represented -- Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Assembly of God, etc.
And this month, a majority of these women - of all denominations - are
fasting and praying together!
Here we have all three elements of the 1859 revival at work: interdenominational unity among laity for the purpose of prayer. Therefore, I do not take this day lightly - the day we focus our prayer on local and national revival.
You may recall yesterday's post, On The Attack,
in which I wrote about Samuel uniting and leading Israel into national
revival. Part of the process that led to revival was a fast...but there
was more. In light of our Thursday focus in prayer, I feel this passage
will give us powerful direction as we pray in concert...

Fasts Proclaimed by American Government
The Assembly of Virginia passed a resolution on June 1, 1774 as a day of fasting, humiliation, and prayer.
In May, 1774, the British Parliament ordered an embargo of Boston to
begin June 1. Immediately the Burgesses of Virginia passed a resolution
protesting this act and setting aside the day of embargo to seek God
with fasting and prayer. According to the Journals of the House of
Burgess of Virginia, the main part of the resolution reads...

Fasting Day 6:On the Attack
Are you discouraged in your fast? Do things seem to be getting worse instead of better?
You are not alone - Samuel and the Israelites had a similar
experience while they gathered together in a fast. If you don't yet
know the end of this story, I think you'll be encouraged. What God did
for them, He will do for you.... To The Top

  Help for Haiti
As many of you know, Tuesday,
January 12, 2010, Haiti was hit by a devastating 7.0 earthquake. This
earthquake is the largest disaster in the western hemisphere in the last 200
years. Most of Port-Au-Prince (the capitol city of Haiti) was destroyed,
and there has been tremendous loss of life and property throughout the entire
country. The magnitude of destruction is still unfolding but we can be
sure of this - this is a time when the body of Christ has an opportunity to
stand up and engage a need by shining the light of hope and the love of
Jesus in Haiti.
As such, I am asking you to please focus prayer and fasting efforts
towards the people of Haiti.
If you want to give financially to support the relief efforts, I recommend Samaritan's Purse, led by
Franklin Graham.
I have great confidence that you can trust that what you give to Samaritan's Purse will be stewarded well to help the people of Haiti.

Isaiah 58:6-8
6 " Is this not the fast that I have
chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? 7
Is it not to share your bread
with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
when you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own
flesh? 8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go
before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

TESTIMONIES
"Thank you so very much for the message that you shared
with us tonight. In all my nearly 32 years of being in...church, I have
NEVER heard the message that I heard tonight. I never realized the
importance and the need of fasting, what it REALLY means, and how to
apply it in my life. Thank you for sharing these truths with us. I
was so excited that I came home and "talked my husband's ear off"
telling him of all the things I learned tonight. I can't wait until we
all meet again...and learn of the things God is doing and going to do in
our lives. What an awesome thing God has allowed for us to experience
with Him!!!" - D.S.
"I went tonight not being convicted about fasting. I left there VERY
convicted.....I'm in! It was a great night in the Lord, thanks Natalie! I
am truly refreshed." - L.H.
"The service last Thursday was 'Powerful, dynamic and so annointed'. I
realize that I definitely was lead by God to be there at that meeting. I was suppose to work that day...God had other
plans. Praise Him. I definitely was convicted that
night to start the fast. And, HE has been so faithful and has given me
the strength and power to 'stick with it'. Praise the Lord. So thank
you Natalie and I can hardly wait to 'see the results'. I KNOW THEY
WILL HAPPEN. PRAISE GOD. - B.M
I cannot even tell you enough.. how much this has spoken to me.. even
the timing is perfect.. It has been almost a week.. and the Lord knew
exactly what I needed to hear. God has confirmed some things even
through some of the scripture that was in this blog! - A.M.
"I saw your post (Isa iah 58:1, "Like a Trumpet"). It is my desire that God would
develop me into that kind of man. Thanks for your boldness..." - Kevin
"The
day I heard your testimony was a life-changing day for me. I have never been
the same since! We Christians are in and out of the Word. We don't know
its value. Your testimony
showed me
that the
Word is our only hope." - Michele
I have appreciated what you have shared on fasting and
the different resources you have mentioned. About a month ago, I began feeling
like in addition to the 'extra' praying I was doing for my dad concerning his
cancer and treatments, that God was urging me to fast 2 days a week as part of
my prayer time for Dad....As I read your experiences and
encouragement, I felt the Father ask me again to do this for my dad as a act of
love and obedience. So for a couple of weeks now, I have added this to my
weekly routine. Whether it affects God answering my prayers for my dad's
physical needs or not, I feel a renewing of my peace and joy from my obedience.
In addition, my dad says he has had no side effects from his radiation
treatments so far and he claims that as an answer to prayer--as do I.
Thanks
for your encouragement and willingness to speak to us from what the Father has
given you. - M.B.
"Although life is still a
struggle for me and my family, I know God is faithful...and your life is living
testimony to that! Thanks for the encouragement - revealed through your life -
that brings endless hope to hurting people. I praise God and know He is behind
it all!!"
- Paula
"I watched the concert of
prayer tonight -- powerful praise and worship! I worshiped God in my living
room along with you...God is calling me to a higher place with him; I must
share the gospel with others -- in the places he gives me, no matter the
cost...Thanks for leading us into his presence."
- Cynthia
